Well its usually me and sometimes a lady friend (100lbs if that) so not much more than your tent.
Im sure with those KB Voodoo rail caps its solid but I think im going to go with a bed rack so I know I won't have to worry about anything. Also because I could have a bed rack made in half the time it would take for the relentless bars to get here for not much more $$$. Thanks everyone for your inputs!

Question for RTT owners -- what it the folding platform of most RTT's made of? Is it laminated plywood? Or some kind of composite panel?

I want to build my own custom RTT and am not sure what to use for the platform. Seems like laminated plywood might get funky after a while if exposed to the elements...?

Toytec drivers side spacers, Toytec diff drop kit. All Pro u-bolt flip kit, TJM Compressor (permanently mounted), Custom rack for the RTT over the bed, Tepui Kukenam RTT, Toyota Bed Mat, Cobra 75 WX ST CB Radio, and a lot of gear behind the seats.
I would describe sleeping in an RTT in Texas as less that ideal. I have done a few nights in the tent in 35 Celsius (95 Fahrenheit) and I hated life.

I picked up one of these recently and it is a game changer, especially with the Autana.

The tent base has aluminum joists, EPS insulation (think Styrofoam), and a plastic or composite outer shell on both faces. Some brands have a thin plywood layer as well, inside the outer shell.

We try to get to things before they are noticed. However, the party that needed to see what was said, saw it........
