Entune vs. Android Tablet

It occurred to me that a tablet would work at least as well as Entune, if not MUCH better, for audio options, navigation, bluetooth, rear camera, etc.

I've tried to like my Entune, and it's OK but a tablet would solve a lot of problems. Hardwire it in and mount in, run direct audio out to amps, hook up all sorts of mad cams, complete integration with Google Voice, GPS, whatever. Whoever writes an app and sells a little black box that integrates the steering controls (hell, even speedo to correct for larger tires) will make billions.

What do you mean by Steering controls??

 

A guy already did this recent.

 

I mean the steering wheel controls to answer phone calls, navigate and initiate voice commands.

jmaack- got a link? I've seen Android head units but they're crippled tablets. Has anyone figured out how to make a tablet behave exactly like the Entune in terms of automatically turning on, and automatically turning the back up camera on when in revers, and the steering wheel controls?

 

I don't know what all it controls. I need to catch up on whole thread.
