I work with a guy who, whenever he hears me get some bullshit call on the radio; within seconds he sends me a meme of something related to the bullshit call. It's freaking uncanny how fast he is and how spot on his meme selection skills are. Bluewaters must be the Dayton version of that guy.

:drunk: I see what you did there

Your pile o' OME shit looks not unlike mine but I only have AAL not the whole leaf pack. Installing them on Wednesday. :bananadance:

I totally fucked up my roof earlier, I was removing the air dam for the factory roof rack and it is held onto the sheet metal by 4 well nuts and bolts. You'd think with the freaking thing being a month old nothing would be bound up but holy fuck, 2 of the 4 well nuts ripped right out of the roof and left nice jagged holes.

I'm going to swing by the radio shop tomorrow and see if they can use their antenna installation hole saw to zip a neat 3/4" hole around each of the jagged areas and then I will plug the holes with hole plugs and silicone. Displeased right now. :bananadead:

BAHAAahahhaa oooooooh that's coldd! ahah we love ya Mark, glad you still consider yourself part of our ranks:)
Don't know what it was that made you sell your Taco but there are always reasons and life choices n stuff that weigh into decisions..
definitely going to keep ribbing you from time to time though:rofl: ..hearing about your lonely old Taco is a real tearjerker. I hope she finds a nice new home soon!

Tell me, what all were your options with OME for the Xterra? I went with LR UCAs 881s nitros front to back and full dakars + extra leaf. Is there an Xterra equivalent to the kit I went with? I ask because I have no idea what your stock leaf packs are like or what sort of options you'd have for front coil lift..

Ummm.... I don't know. I mean, kinda I do, but some of your language is unfamiliar to me.

I only really want a lift for appearances (let's be honest). I like a really subtle lift that the uninformed might look at and not even notice; but that someone who is in the know would see and recognize as a nicely sorted out rig. I don't really think that a lift is needed for the sort of driving I do, since my off road stuff is not anything more hairy than Wills Creek style stuff (this is a daily driver after all). Plus, I don't want to deal with potential driveline issues from a monster lift. So... I was looking at around a 2" lift.

I was initially going to get a spacer lift up front and a longer shackle in the back (Rough Country) but after doing some research I decided to get a real suspension lift. NissTec has probably all the options you could want and they were pretty good at answering questions. I ended up with the kit I linked a few pages back - http://nissteclifts.com/index.php?p...tegory_id=173&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=72 - mainly due to price and the fact that I didn't feel the need for new leafs at this point in time. If I had an older truck or did a ton of towing I might consider them but the truck has 1500 miles on it and the only weight back there is my dirt bike on a hitch hauler once in a while, so the leafs should be good. Much like the Tacoma, Xterra guys say the leafs are weak and prone to breakage yadda yadda yadda... I see a ton of Xterras on the road and most of those owners just driver them, happily oblivious to any such "issues", and I have yet to see one dragging it's tail like a dog that is trying to wipe shit off in grass, so I think that concern is not realistic.

There is an Xterra equivalent to your kit, but basically I believe our coils and shocks / struts are substantially the same (nitros) and the differences are that you are getting new UCAs and a full leaf pack + leaf. I should see about 2" of lift once installed, hopefully a little better ride, and the rear will be a bit stiffer so it won't sag so much with the bike on the back.

If only there were a forum for him to talk to his Nissan friends...

    Screen Shot 2015-08-13 at 12.49.15 PM.jpg

...but noooo he'll just clog up our forum with things that aren't Tacoma!

hahaha 2 inches is a good goal. I'm goin for roughly 2-1/4 to 2-1/2. My thinking was you can never go wrong with an extra 2-1/2 inches:rolleyes:
I too put my bike on the hitch so the leaf upgrade felt unavoidable. After driving for 3000 miles (i'm guessing) with a broken rear shock one leaf pack definitely has more negative arch than the other. You say your lift is for looks but aren't you doing an overland trip soon?..

But I like you guys :(

Yes I am taking a trip for 15+/- days in September. I think the term "overland" is uber faggy. But I recognize that realistically I could do all the stuff I'm going to do in a non lifted truck, or probably 90% of it in a 2WD car, honestly. 4WD will be handy if we run into snow in Glacier or the Co Rockies but the lift really won't make a lot of difference except in the overall scheme of personal awesomeness that I aim for.

    Sooooo just to be clear..

Overland is faggy. But, there is an "overall scheme of personal awesomeness" that you aim for in getting a 2" lift... something in there was about 2wd as well?!?.. Oh dear.

In all seriousness, we kinda like you too:cheers:
Have fun in the Rockies that should be a blast. Hopefully there are actually still some Glaciers in Glacier. Every year it looks more and more depressing!

Take lots of pics for us. No, not those sort of pics. The good kind of pics. On second thought.. don't take any pics.

LOL, the word 'overland' is fucking stupid. Isn't every trip over land? Wouldn't a drive to Circle K to get the $2.22 roller dog deal be over land? It's a dumb descriptor to describe an otherwise cool endeavor.

Ima take tons of photos and you dried up stinky dicklickers won't get to see a single one!!!!!!!!!!

Only my BFFs on schweetxterra.org will have access!
