I'm not sure what trans you're running, but my cruiser with the a343 auto will go into a semi-auto limp mode. So you need to start in L and "shift" to 2 and finally D, wont go into overdrive. Worth giving it a shot.

If it's a 700r4 does that mean the engine block has a GM bellhousing bolt pattern?

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
I would hope so since it's a GM motor...

So ordered a new TV Cable directly from GM. Should have it tomorrow. I am going to have the truck towed home tonight since I am going to have to lose some fluid during the swap and then the next step is checking the actual internals so I figured if I am going to have a down day I might as well work on it this weekend in the comfort of my own garage. That's what roadside assistance is for anyways.

So you could throw in a T56 6 speed. That would be killer.

doesn't someone make an adapter for bolting an Atlas t-case to a T56? Like a whole new tail piece or something?

Perhaps but I already have the Mark's adapter in there to mate it with the stock Tcase. Which is awesome because I am running stock driveshaft in the proper location. If I need lower gearing tcase wise I can just buy the crawling gear set from Marlin.

Also I'm not going to lie...I kinda like this whole auto transmission thing...so much easier to drink my morning coffee and I'm sure less stalling while wheeling :)

I started to hate my manual transmission when I had my Subaru. It sucked in traffic.

Traffic wasn't what I hated about mine... the lack of a crawlbox and having to smash so much offroad was getting old quick. In fact if the taco didn't roll it would have had a second case by now easily.

So I think I am fucked. Just pulled the truck off base for the tow later today and it feels like it is shifting up into 2nd and then slipping. My guess is the improper TV Cable caused this. FUCK ME.
