Got a call from the guys that took my truck to look at it. They are saying its a total loss (like i didnt know that) but now he says that HID's, New rearend, and such do not add value. i already told him i would contact my attorny and see what he thinks, so we will see if that changes anything

Eerie is a good company. They are just regional so it's going through an independent adjuster. Headlights and such are upgraded parts, not additional parts so they don't really add value. Stock headlight costs X and HIDs cost X so your only entitled to the difference not full replacement. Same with all upgraded parts. You also have to consider they only owe you ACV, not replacement cost. ACV is cost new less depreciation for wear & tear and age.

They are supposed to give me enough to replace the vehicle to before wreck. Tacoma prerunner longbeds 4doors in my area with same mileage and options, the cheapest I found was 16,580. (Kbb says 12000) Plus being in GA I will be asking for the taxes associated with the buying of vehicle

Remember this, insurance people are like salesmen, they will low ball you. I have gone through this too many times to count and i would never take there first offer. Make sure you bargain with them. I had a rock crawler with a full exo cage and sas and after arguing they paid me a good chunk of the labor and materials. ($10,000 in mods and i got $7k just for the mods)

Glad you weren't hurt or that your family was with you. I got hit once with my son in the truck and lost it a bit - long story short i'm glad I didn't get shot. Good luck, man!

now both insurance companies are sending in a quote tomorrow to get me to settle.. Which is really funny because i got an email from progressive today that hooks me into their website to buy a truck. When i search Progressives website a truck just like mine is over 16000 which is really funny since they only offered me 10K the first time around..

I totaled my 2007 honda civic back in 2012. I ended up t-boning a guy who ran a stop sign in his 2nd gen tacoma DCSB. I was going about 40mph, I dont think he had a lift on it but my car's front end went right under it. My car was mangled up to the windshield and his passenger side doors were pinched shut. I had AAA at the time and they ended up giving me 16.5K. I think I paid between 19K-20K for it new. A month later I went and bought my 2012 Tacoma. Dealership gave me 1K for being a recent college grad, I had another $500 from grad gifts, so I put a 18K down payment. I was lucky AF, except for the fact that I had one payment left on the civic and I'm still paying off my taco.

The longer you hold out the better the offers become. They get measured on how quickly they settle claims. Tell them you want the 16K that Progressive is selling the truck unless you want more.

For some reason my insurance called Erie and asked them to throw in a price. were getting closer but they offered me 13K. Still havent found a truck for 13K.. So back to the drawing board.. Progressive is supposed to make another offer monday. Erie said they dont have to supply me with a rental now i have gotten my insurance involved, which i looked into and that is true. So i have till tomorrow to turn the rental back in. They think by taking my rental away it will make me settle, But i have borrowed a vehicle so i wont settle till i get what i want out of it. I think it would be different if i was asking for 17K and there was multiple trucks in the area for 10K but there isnt, and i even looked up to 250miles away from my house. I did find a good deal in texas but im not going that far.
