If you go with one of those in wall kits I'd put the bottom plate where the middle coax cable is currently coming through. Move that middle coax over to the box on the right (I'm assuming this is a permanent box installed before gyp board). No patching necessary.

If there wasn't a stud on the right side of the far right receptacle I could do that.

I present to you, my exceptional art skills to demonstrate why I'd need to cut new holes and patch the old ones.

I did forget to mention, I will be painting this entire wall with new paint when I am done, so patching isn't that big of a deal. Youtube is teaching me.

Cut a hole in the wall and run everything then

I think i'll might to keep it looking pretty clean. Do you have any experience with any specific TV mounts? I know you do a lot of home improvement stuff, not sure about media stuff though.

No biggie. I need to practice my line drawings.

I have this mount for my 60" plasma. Great mount! It may pose a problem though, if you want to add an outlet directly behind the tv. I would recommend have the outlet behind your component stand and run cables through the wall.

I was actually just looking at that exact mount. Why do you say put the outlet elsewhere?

    I have also found this

    http://www.omnimount.com/products/tv_wall_mounts/tilt/oc150t/

and one of these to mount my soundbar below with

Just spoke with Omni. I asked about the soundbar being mounted on the bottom interfering with the tilt function and they state that the tilt function happens as the top of the tv pulls away from the wall and the bottom is stationary.

I think I found my mount.

I say to put outlet elsewhere as this Sanus mount is fairly low profile, so not much room. Also easier to access if not directly behind the tv.

I am not familiar with the Omni, but it doesn't look nearly as robust as the Sanus.

Either way, good luck with the install and post pics when done.

So do you see your cables coming out from behind the tv ?

Look at firefold.com for mounts as well as power outlets. We install computer networks (and TV's and audio and all that stuff) for dental offices and use their stuff. We have not had any issues in the past 8 or so years we have used them. Great prices.

I think it was mentioned above, but just note that if your cables (power, HDMI, etc) come out of the back of the TV, you might have issues with the slim mounts as the cables will hit the wall. You can find right angle adapters for most everything though it you are stuck on the slim mounts.

As of now, yes. Can see hdmi and component cables inbetween the TV and component stand. I do plan on running the cables in the wall to clean it up, but I've put off that task for over a year now haha. Not a very good pic, but here is my setup.

It was mentioned before but needs to be repeated: Monoprice.com. Check it out. Cheap and fast delivery. Everything you need (and stuff you don't but will buy anyway because need/want can be interchangeable). I ran power in a box behind my TV, also HDMI and Cat5, using banana plugs and various connectors from Monoprice including slim mount TV mount.

Ignore the speaker wire hanging down. I'm working on a bathroom remodel on the other side of the wall and have to relocate the speaker cubby, so I had to temp run the wire through a hole in the wall behind the TV.

I cut the drywall and drilled through the stud to pull my cable coax, then patched it and painted. My electrical wires were accessible in the attic and I drilled through the header and added a remodel box for the wall plug.

Picked these up earlier. Recessed plug and access for up top and trough for down behind media center. I'm committed now.
