Not pooping on your rant here, but i do want to offer a defense for the Overland-ers. The understanding i have of "overland expedition" vehicles is more of having the truck prepared for every need of the explorer. What that would include is the truck not only provides a mode of transportation, but also all the on-board systems that meets the survival needs of the explorer; like shelter, food prep/storage, water for hydration (and some have hot water showers!), tools to keep the truck going, etc (basically anything needed for explore when civilization is more than a gas tank away). That's what i think is the difference between an overland truck and any other truck that is out cutting the trails or crawling through malls.

And i was creeping on the posts that i had fallin' behind... 09 taco girl seriously jumps onto this thread with almost 0 posts to repeat anecdotal facts about the area you guys drove, assuming you broke all the rules, even though she wasn't there? Reminds me of the Reddit trolls. << probably gonna trigger a response that i won't take time to read. Internet are fun!

I might be up for going to Troy and working on the truck! Just got my extended brake lines installed, so I'm ready to wrench! Would be great to have peeps around who've seen suspension installs, to provide guidance.

Stop talking to the guy with the Xterra, you'll only encourage him to stick around.

I like the vehicles, I like the mindset, I just think it's a stupid word.

I'm assuming Greg is the meme master while he's on shift at the FD. Glad he's taking a break from holding down the recliner and playing X-box, a man can only do so much of that!

Congrats Gavin (on earlier posts) and fuck you Gavin (on last posts).

My impression of most "overland" vehicles is "bought, not built" and the owners are suburban dweebs who dress head to toe in the latest and most expensive overlander fashion when they drag their kids down to the mall to go to Menchies Ice Cream.

Kind of the 4WD verison of these Harley riding dentist-lawyer-accountant toolbags that think because they bought their way in they can pretend to be Jax Teller.

Not the real deal like us hard core mother fuckers.

Wow lets see.. Low post #'s means between work and life in general I'm not on the computer alot. That doesn't mean I don't have something to add.
I did use the wrong word of manage referring to ODNR . I guess I should have wrote that the Wills Creek "area" is under ODNR's jurisdiction and patrolled by them.
And referring to the the use of internet is that info is on line such as maps along with phone #'s.
And I all ready wrote who my contacts were, ODNR and AEP. So,don't recall the name of who I talked to at ODNR District 4 office. Also I talked to Dingey at AEP Recreation Lands management office. Now because of my hrs I have not talked to Officers Allison or Berry, yet. But most likely soon I'll be talking face to face with Wildlife Officers, early season starts in little over 2 weeks, instead of doing phone tag and we can be looking at same maps at the same time.
What I'm getting at is that there isn't any legal off road trails.
