Looking for all the 2nd Gen prospectors out there! I like to prospect on my down time. Throw a couple sluice boxes in a river, dig a few holes, find the gold. Anyone else out there that does this?

I've got a buddy that pans for gold. I think he's found just about enough to buy a pencil eraser in somewhere around a ton of river dirt. seems like a cool lazy day type hobby though.

I did that when I lived in Colorado. But the best way is a Tesoro Vaquero metal detector. Stick in in the stream and move in real slow until you here the beep. Now start the sluicing.

I do some nugget shootin' with a detector from time to time, and I have friends who have a small 3" dredge we fart around with sometimes. I've been thinking on that Fenn treasure for a while now. Anyone else mess with that? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fenn_treasure

Interesting. I'm taking a road trip back to Colorado. May have to get my gold fever going and look for this chest!

He says several people have been within 200' of it and many have figured out the clues. I'm not one of them, good luck, and if you find it the added bonus is you get to talk like a pirate for life!

Yahhhharrr matey!! I love prospecting because it almost makes me feel like a kid. Everytime I head out I imagine pulling out a nugget I could barely carry...then selling the bastard for big $$$$, buying a house and toys...then doing it all over again!

Unfortunately, haven't even hit a 1/4 of an ounce cumulatively....dammmit!!:annoyed:

I`m an exploration geologist. I mostly work on grassroot exploration projects so I consider myself somewhat of a prospector. I logged many hundred miles by foot using a Beep Mat looking for conductors. Most of my road accessible work I do with my Taco but I mostly work in remote areas where I travel by helicopter. I`m presently working on a promising graphite project. It ain`t gold but it pays the bills!
