    the lightning storm incident was interesting. the static in the air made the hair on my arms stand up and when the lightning struck there was a flash of light, then you could FEEL the boom of the thunder before actually hearing the thunder. very freaky

    maybe an instance where "they don't build em like they used to" is a good thing? :laugh: i take it building codes were pretty lax for a long time up there. didn't you have a house with stumps supporting the beams?

    Place was built in 1908. The best part is the architect actually put on the plans the log and a title beside. Something like existing main support log lol

    Not really, the plans have no measurements. Mostly basic info so that we have no real info to follow. Designing and building on the fly with lots of calls and visits to the building inspector and engineer
