Agreed. I don't think this thread should be locked, but lets keep the tone helpful. No need to bash some one because they didn't do something the way you would do it.

I came across that hitch when I was looking for a front mount for my 2009 Pre Runner TRD Sport. Unfortunately I could not afford it. I ended up with the Curt front mount hitch exactly like the one pictured twice in this thread, the directions were a little confusing to me so I called the webiste/shop I purchased the hitch from and they in turn gave me a contact # to Curt tech support, I was blown away at how helpfull they were.
They sent me pictures to help me understand the mystery behind the skid plate. I couldnt see the forest through the trees! Once I got the pictures it took all of 45 minutes to install, I couldnt be happier! Well I could if I had the CBI front hitch.

Wow, that receiver looks gerat. If you wanted to go back to stock, the small grille would probably be real cheap to replace...or maybe there is an aftermarket one you could cut to fit and save the original just in case.

I am just on my second payment on my $32,000 (my first new) truck and am leery about doing any major mods yet...but it looks great!

Thanks for putting up the link of the build. As far as going back to stock, if you live in a state that requires a front license plate, it will cover the fin that is cut out. Or you can just get an entire front bumper with a receiver built into it and then just unbolt it and bolt the factory bumper back on.

Removed the price sticker in the window, bobbed 6" off the mudflaps, debadged. TSB completed.
Granted it was on my Chevy's. But Curt customer service treated me well when I called for info, the service and product was so good that I have put a Curt on most of my previous vehicles.
