Washed both the toys and my mom's SUV. Truck was in serious need of TLC...I think I've driven it maybe three times in the two months since I've had my bike

Also thinking a little about just getting the Yoshimura fender eliminator kit. It would be like $115 but it really does make a big difference getting rid of the stock monstrosity of a fender...

Might use the cash I'm earning next week (~$300) and just get it.

You don't really need it. Because of my fender eliminator, my rear tire flings mud on me

My fender has a tire hugger and slopes out to cover more than I think your bike does, so unless I'm in the rain it shouldn't be a big deal.

Besides, I just ordered it :)

Fender eliminator should be here Monday. Hopefully will get it put on either Monday depending on what time it gets here or Tuesday.

Excited to get rid of the ugly OEM fender.

Fender eliminators are always a requirement on a bike in my opinion haha

I was just gonna leave it since I didn't want to dump too much money into the bike since I may sell it in about two years, but I'd rather not have to look at the last thing bothering me about the bike for the next two years. I think it will look a lot better.

Plus I've only really spent maybe $100 on the bike itself, so another $115 really isn't that bad. I'm not gonna get anything else for it since the only things I really can do is an exhaust. A lawnmower with a nice exhaust still sounds like a lawnmower ;)

Sweet bike, currently ride a Harley superglide but probably will sell for a 300 or 650 next season for commuting.

Gas mileage is amazing on my bike. Even when I ride it pretty hard, I'm still getting 55-60 MPG. It's fast enough to ride in traffic but it's certainly not crazy quick.

I love pulling into the gas station while people are already pumping and I fill up and leave while they're still pumping :)

Removed the folding storage tray under the rear seat for more storage space. Originally I didn't remove it because the PO had velcro installed the alarm computer box on the tray but I decided to move it to the side of the normal storage space and now I can fit a lot more under the rear seat. You can see it on the right side of the picture on an angle.

Got the FE on and everything buttoned up. Out for a ride now so I'll post pics later. It really cleans the look up.

Also finished three coats of rust enamel paint on the rust spots where my tank mounts to the frame.

Went on about a 50 mile ride today after helping train some guys at the firehouse. Loving the bike.

Still working on making smoother shifts with WOT. I think I either pull the clutch in just before I fully let off the throttle or something because I hear the bike revving as I shift.

Got a few things done. The water run off while washing my riding jacket was a lot dirtier than I expected. 2 months of riding got it a little rank...
    • Cleaned / lubed chain & rear sprocket
    • Checked and corrected tire pressure
    • Put riding jeans in machine wash and hand washed riding jacket
    • Cleaned helmet (Motul cleaner)
    • Completed another chain adjustment...went a little smoother than last time but still a PITA

Close throttle completely, light squeeze of the clutch lever as fast as you can while at the same time grabbing the next gear. Then open throttle back up. The whole process should take less than a second. Takes time to get used to it if you've never done it before. But its good to know incase you're about to be rear ended.

You can also "clutchless shift" if you'd like to know about that, i can oblidge.

Yeah I know both those processes, putting it into practice perfectly is another. ;) Shifting WOT is not terrible, it's just not smooth like my normal acceleration shifting finally is now.

Also almost (~100 miles) to my first 1000 miles on the bike :)

Ordered a Kriega US-10 tail pack since I'm tired of stuffing my Kriega R20 backpack to the gills every time I go to the firehouse and I can't use the bungee cover anymore since I don't have the hooks on the OEM fender now. I said I wouldn't get anything else for the bike, but I can swap this over to whatever bike I get in the future. :)

Put the Kriega tailpack on. This will be a god send for whenever I'm going to the firehouse or bringing any reasonable amount of clothes and stuff. The straps are kept in place by the rear seat (my bike does not have a useable sub frame to wrap the loops on like some bikes can use for the Kriega's) and then the bag is connected with hooks to the straps and then buckles to the bag itself. It is 100% waterproof and has a removable liner, as well as a smaller top pocket and mesh slide in pocket on the underside. Nice thing about not being able to loop the straps on to the sub frame is that I can remove the whole system completely very easily by just removing the rear seat and sliding the straps out.

Kriega makes high quality products with thoughts to the user in mind, especially with just little stuff like excess strap clips to keep everything from blowing around.

Ordered a K&N filter since owner's manual recommends filter change every two years and I've heard it actually helps the bike breathe more easily.

Also ordered a grey Yoshimura steering stem bolt for shits and giggles. OEM bolt is ugly anyway ;) 32 ft/lbs torque for my reference.

DIY oil /filter change will be in ~2,000 miles along with dealer brake fluid / pads inspection and steering stem lubrication.

Just officially passed the first 1,000 miles put on the bike by me! :woot:
