Mine look fine after 13 years. I know there is a product that you can apply that's supposed to protect them from the sun. I may have done it a few times over the years.

I like the black fenders, cheap to replace, doesn't matter if they get scratched. Just use some back to black

I'll be going with the TRD OR

Oh yea hi everyone, new here

So I sold a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in anticipation of buying a 2016 Tacoma Sport TRD. But just today while going through all these threads for the millionth time it occurred to me the one thing I will be missing out on getting the Sport is the rear locking differential. I used it once in my Jeep and it was really helpful. Do you guys think it's worth giving up some of the creature comforts of the Sport to go with the OR for the locking differential?

More details about the differences between the sport and OR have cropped up in another thread. It states "features adds or replaces features offered on TRD Sport." That means that you get everything that's on the sport plus whatevers on the OR, unless its a replacement. You aren't going to miss any creature comforts by going with the off road.

No. Get a sport so there are more ORs for the rest of us.

Wait and make sure the locker and/or A-TRAC will still only be on the Off Road TRD 4WD. I have no idea what "creature comforts" the Sport has over the Off Road. To me it is far more 'comfortable' to not get stuck or need to be pulled out!

Why people find the need to be rude on this forum seems unnecessary to me. Wether ur an OR or a Sport purchased we are all supporting the same brand. I don't do that much off roading in fact during the time I had the Rubicon I only went once. I do a fair amount of traveling throughout the year and things like heated seats and the Qi charging appealed to me as "creature comforts" not to mention have you heared the JBL sound system? It's Awesome. So yes I will leave the OR to you more experienced folks.

My 2010 Off Road came with the JBL sound system... Is that really a 'creature comfort'?

Haha I guess we could refer to it as an upgrade? I listen to a lot of music and for me that "upgrade" is a must. But like I said I'm mostly on the road and I like the look of the sport having door handles, fender flares and bumpers color matching I know I'll get crap for that statement but it is what it is

A lot of people assume that the only reason to buy a Tacoma 4X4 is to go hardcore off roading. Everyone has their own reason to buy a Truck. A TRD Sport is good enough for the majority of the people out there. How many people will buy the Off Road and never use the Crawl control or the locker except just to try it out.

I know I will be buying one. I am in law enforcement and need to make it to work no matter what. We don't get a lot of snow down here in northern VA, but when we do, it sucks with all these morons on the roads.

If you are going to use it, buy it. The point I was trying to make is a lot of people buy 4X4's and never use it off road. But they will buy the most capable off road package, modify it to make it better off road. But will never take it off road. I have a neighbour who has a lifted Tundra. ARB Bumper and a bunch of other upgrades and that truck will never leave the pavement. But he does has a cool 1985 Toyota 4X4 done up.

I know what your point was, just stating that i am one to use it. The above sounds like my neighbor. Do you live in the DC area?! Tehehe!

Another neighbor has a heavily modified Z06, and he doesn't even do the speed limit in it. It makes me cry.

How's the LB on the tight trails? Much of a difference from SB?

You should also be concerned about the breakover angle with the extra foot.
