It's AC. I don't think there is a first. Just one per circuit, anywhere on the circuit.

yes the first outlet power comes to needs to be ground fault, after that the next 4 or 5 outlets are powered off of that outlet and can be regular style because the first ground faulted outlet shuts that row of outlets off if there is a short.

its SOP they don't put ground fault outlets on every one, that would cost a lot more needlessly

Argh!! Awake at 3am. Freaking raccoons!! Two of them just sauntered through our backyard, which of course woke Dolly up. So she goes berserk, which wakes us. She and Eric fell back to sleep within seconds, and I am wide awake, cursing raccoons and trying to find a decent movie to watch. I really, really hate raccoons.

We've experienced some version of this fun raccoon fiasco at least a billion times in the last 10 years of living here. They use our yard as a travel path to neighboring yards that have fruit trees, berry bushes, etc. They are such gross creatures, and carry nasty diseases, so I hate seeing them in our yard. Which is why we cut down our massive spread of beautiful, shade providing grape vines that we grew on our arbor - I read that grapes were their favorite food, so down they came. They also took up residence inside a giant hollow in this MASSIVE willow tree we had. Came home from vacation, and heard something INSIDE the tree. Eric looked in the hollow, and there they were. 48 hours and $3,000 later, that tree was taken down to a stump. Nosirree, not gonna be living in my yard :puke:

Can someone please exterminate those little bastards???????? :fenforcer:It's illegal to shoot them in city limits. Pretty sure we've heard a guy down the street doing it sometimes anyway - we always silently cheer him on  Then you've got the complete idiot people down the other direction that feed them at their back door and talk about how adorable they are  Yeah, rabies and roundworm and distemper are just adorable  I saw a documentary about them a couple years ago, and it was absolutely disturbing how overpopulated they've become in cities. Makes sense though - they have no natural predators in cities. Not like we're gonna have a pet cougar or coyote back there

Even trap & release of them is illegal here. Why? Their logic is that there are already too many of them everywhere, so don't take the problem ones in your own neighborhood and dump them elsewhere. But then what the hell are people supposed to do???????????? Somehow their populations need to be brought down, especially around cities. It's ridiculous. They are everywhere. We'd get in big trouble if we got pulled over with one of those things (dead or alive) in a trap in the bed of the Taco.

It's really stupid, because they basically have so many laws in place to protect those little bastards that people are left totally defenseless against them. I know Dolly would seriously hurt or even kill them if we let her go at them, but I don't want her to get bit or scratched in the process and get some nasty disease/parasite from them. It's like torture for her, watching them run around out there while being restrained from doing her natural doggie instinct thing - rip 'em apart. Torture for me too!!

Anyone else have problems with raccoons?

trust me, if dolley got into it with one, she would be going to the vet hospital to be stitched back up.

they have no fear and wont run away because those bastards have razor sharp claws and are very scrappy, they even kill dogs trained to hunt them.

DO NOT let dolley any where near one, for her sake, not even talking about diseases, just talking about being ripped open by those claws and sharp teeth.

    raccoon Sauce Piquante

3-5 lbs raccoon deboned and musk gland removed, cut into 3/4" sized chunks
2 or 3 large yellow onions (chopped fine)
2 or 3 heaping tablespoons minced garlic (2-3 regular cloves)
    1 cup water
    1 can beef gravy
2 large (15oz) can diced or chopped tomatoes (plus liquids)
1 small (6-8oz) can tomato sauce
1 or 2 large (15oz) can chopped mushroom pieces (without liquids)
    2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    3 heaping tablespoons parsley
1 teaspoon each (oregano, thyme, rosemary)
    3 teaspoons salt
    1/2 cup all purpose flour
    1/4 cup veggie oil

    Directions:
    1. In a large, heavy pot like a 5 quart Dutch oven, add 1 cup of water to pot and bake the raccoon in a pre-heated oven @ 350 degrees for 1 hour then remove the meat and let cool. (leave liquids in the pot)
    2. Place the pot on stove at medium heat and add in the onions, garlic, parsley, and all seasonings and cook until onions turn clear while you make a roux with the flour and oil in a separate pan and then add it and the gravy then mix in well. now add all remaining ingredients except for the meat and simmer for 15 minutes.
    3. now add the raccoon meat and bake in a pre-heated oven @ 350 degrees for 1 hour more or until all meat is tender and your done. :hungry:

    :puke:

I'm not a city person!! At least I don't see myself that way.

Spent a ton of time at my grandparent's place as a kid - 100 acres of woods. Watched my grandpa skin a squirrel he'd shot when I was like 7 years old - :puke:
