Starting to research my next tire size as I don't think I'm gonna continue with the 285's. I love the look, but the truck is sluggish and gas mileage tanked. Lift is OME/OME 887s front and OME rear with TSB and 1" block. So I'm right at 3".

I ran 265/70/17's prior to these and my larger lift and liked that size. But the 285's are a good inch larger in diameter. I'd like to find some other options to fill that gap. Seems like I'm looking at 255/75/17, 265/70/17, or 275/70/17.

I'd love to see some pictures of the 275's or 265/70/17's on a 3" lift with something close to my -12 offset. I've seem pics of the 265/70/17 in some of the other 3" pic request threads, but a lot of those were on stock wheels and I know the offset of my wheels will help the smaller tires look better with my lift, just haven't found any pictures yet.

I also want to go with a size that will fit in the stock spare location with no modifications. I've researched high and low and all I find is you can cut the brackets to fit a 285, but wondering if the 265/70/17 or 275/70/17 will fit.

Almost time for my first set new tires and looking at the 285/70/R17 but I was wondering the same thing about the spare tire being stock size. Could I run it in the front "in case" of emergency without a problem?

The front won't be an issue. It's the rear when you have a tire spinning faster than the other. It will be fine for a short trip to the tire shop, but I wouldn't take a trip down the freeway like that. Your differential will heat up after a while.
