Replacing shift knob on 08 auto tacoma??

    Hello all. i want to replace my stock shiftknob with a billet one. I have an 08 tacoma with automatic. anyone know how to remove the shift knob? I checked all the other threads and found no results. any help is welcome. thanks.

    It should just screw right off you might have to put some effort into it but it should screw off.

    really, okay cool i'll try that. i was trying to unscrew it but it wasnt budging so i thought i was going to damage it if i tried harder. but i'll give it another go. thanks for the info.

    thanks. yeh i saw your previous post but wasnt sure how you got yours on. yours looks tight man. i'm going to get one at pep boys next week. its a billet 44mag barrell.

    I was looking at that one and the grenade one but settled one the one I got. I love that 44mag one it should look awesome. Throw up some pix when you get it done.

    ebay. they have some sick looking skull shift knobs. don't know if thats your taste but they are f'n sick looking. they have chrome ones and also real looking ones made of resin. However if you don't want to pay the shipping and all you can go to pep boys. they have a decent collection of shiftknobs i believe made by Pilot. they only run about $12 -$15.

    Yeh it is. the top unscrews. you can store whatever fits. Right now thought i have the factory shiftknob back on. living in southern cali in the summer, a billet knob and extreme heat just is a bad combo. haha. i'll put it back on when the weather cools down.

    i made one out of the stock cam out of my 50cc pitbike. The bearings spin and it is EXTREMELY fun to play with while you drive. (man-alive!! my truck is filthy!)
