    We are all hoping for some exciting new engines and transmissions with the debut of this somewhat all new 2016 Tacoma next week. Knowing Toyota we are expecting the carry over 2.7L and most likely the dual VVT-i 4.0L form the 4runner. Hopefully with a but more HP.
    BUT... Id like to see what everyone thinks of the idea of Toyota making the 4.6L V8 from the Tundra as an optional engine? Gas is cheap for the moment and this would be an easy way for Toyota to offer a unique option that the midsize truck competition doesn't anymore.
    Id like to see Toyota make a big splash with something to make this new Tacoma offer an engine that might be great and nobody thought would actually be offered...

    If they ever get to the point that they're sitting on excess production capacity you might be able to justify a configuration like this, probably as a trd pro. Probably won't happen unless the midsize market grows to at least 800k per year and everyone and their mother is making a midsize.
