So I have a proposition for those in Idaho and seeing if you might be interested in joining a group that I'm a part of. We are actively looking for off-road enthusiasts to help us create trail guides. It is a fun and rewarding way to make a little money while doing what you love to do. We are still in the building and beta phase, but we don't have anybody in Idaho yet. So I figured I'd pop in here with a little shameless plug. Plus it'd be nice to get more Taco's on board! And I'm having a great time with it.

Trail guides? Like a book.

Unfortunately everything in idaho is hush and hardly everything is publicially posted, my guess to keep the trails relatively protected. I wish I could help break the cycle but I don't want to be responsible for it and having people mad at me.

 

So off topic, but I was in the middle of changing out stainless braided lines on the rear and the front of my truck might have been up hill slightly so now that I go to bleed it I bled like 15 oz total out of each side and the pedal still feels spongy. Could it be possible since I got interrupted to go have breakfast that as the line drained some air could have got trapped up in the abs block?

 

05+ are a pita to bleed. Yes, air got into the abs pump and master cylinder would be my guess. Did you turn the key on while bleeding?

 

I didn't even put they key in the ignition until I thought I was done... so can only the dealer hook up their abs bleeders thing

 

You know that noise when you first turn the key on that sounds like your moms vibrator? That's the ABS pump pressurizing the system. You can use your key to push the fluid out (with pedal pressure of course). There is also a bleeder at the master cylinder. K, when you said use the key, is that with the key on but the engine off?

 

Ya. Every once in a while turn it off then back on to purge the ABS pump. Play with it a little. I use the jar method so I can do it myself, but with a helper it's easier.

 

I'm using speed bleeders so I can still do it myself.

And I got my breaks a ill more solid, just feels like a bit of travel before brakes bite hard
