I got 17-18mpg consistently with 285/75 16 tires (32.8"), 3" lift, V6 6spd 4x4, secondary air filter removed. Now with an AFE Pro Dry filter I've gotten 20+ for the last 2 tanks. I put the filter on halfway through one tank and got 19 mpg on that. Now it's 20.2, 20.3.... Waiting to see what the current tank turns out to be.

The AFE Pro Dry is probably the best thing I've done for mileage besides the scangauge and monitoring my driving. Not only does it save me money buying new filters, but it's bumped it up 2-3mpg so far. :D

I just figured the mileage on the third tank of gas - 20.8 on ex cab V-6 auto. This included a few trips thru dunkin donuts drive thru, one traffic jam of about 20 mins and one long highway trip of about 110 miles. All the rest was on 2 lane country roads too and from work.

Good mileage! I spend a daily trip to the starbucks drive thru and during the week I mostly do grocery and target runs. I also have not letmy tank dip below 1/2 tank...... I want to keep getting gas before it gets more expensive (It seems to go up every freakin day!!!!). maybe when I take a trip north on hwy5 I'll get some better ##'s to post.

Oh and I just broke 1K miles! 1018 today, I farted in it (chilidogs for dinner last night from weinerschnitzle (sp)) and killed the new car smell:puke:

Same here.... 2007 TRD Sport Access cab with Auto (4.0L) - half city/half highway. I'm getting 17.5-18mpg. I have a 9 mile drive to work (7 miles on highway). I travel anywhere from 65-75mph.

This tank, I've been trying to keep my speed down. I put the cruise control on and set it at 60mph - I have a hard time keeping my foot out of it. We'll see how this tank goes....

OK.. I'm going to coast up to speed to see if I can get 22.4 MPGs. I thought I was happy with 18.5 but that obviously sucks compared to your MPGs

Never better than 19 and never worse than 17.

Doesn't seem to matter what kind of driving I do, I always get something between those numbers. Mine's an 08 Access Cab, 4x4, 6spd, completely stock.

My wife and I did a test last weekend to see what the lowest mpg I could get in the truck would be. Not towing. Started at 1080 ft. elevation and went to 5600 ft. The driveing style was 3rd and 4th mostly (rpm arround 3500-5000), many 6% grades, never slower than 75 m.p.h. on the highway. Offroading with juditious amounts of throttle. 15.1 mpg was the outcome. Im happy. :D

Love My 6spd. If I had a chance to do it over I would def get an Auto, especially w/the rise of fuel going on. I now use my weekend hobby of mountain biking as a means of trans to work just to cut down on cost.

    Howdy Ya'll,

New Taco owner here. Just bought a 2007 PreRunner Double Cab SR5 V6 Auto with 29,000 miles. My first tank got me 355miles 17.7 MPG. This included over an hour idling while the alarm installer at the dealer did his thing.

My second tank was much improved with 428 Miles at 24.17MPG. The second tank was improved by using some hypermiling tecniques.

    Later,

    Allan Greenblazer

I'm going to say if you want fuel economy go with the I4 you can still pull light trailers and such, I get about 20-21 city and 23-24 highway but thats with a cold air intake witch will run you around 250 dollars. the best I've ever done was 26mpg and i was driving about 60 with people flying by me. If you need a commuter truck the four cylinder five speed is the best you can buy (untill you need to tow something).

City isn't bad but it isn't enough of an improvement for me to give up the power that I enjoy. Granted, I'm auto but still, I get 18-19 city/23-24 hwy. I got 17.8mpg last week with all local driving and 90 degree weather. These trucks are so close between auto and manual that it's a virtual tie.

CAI's are fun but I see folks getting better results MPG-wise out of just the AFE drop in filter. I'll let find out shortly when mine arrives.
