I think we all were...maybe Toyota knows Tacoma fans are die hard. Even in the current market what else is there in a pick up truck this size. I know, the Colorado/Canyon twins and the Frontier come to mind but I don't even look twice at those trucks when I see them on the road. I didn't even think to look at them when I decided to buy a truck. It was simple, Toyota Tacoma. To this day my 92 Toyota truck was one of the best vehicles I owned.

The crawl feature sounds very much like the hill assist some of the AWD vehicles have. Flame suit is on...My 2014 Santa Fe had hill assist which applied the ABS and controlled the throttle when descending steep grades. I'm sure the system is nowhere near as good as the system in the Tacoma, hell the car was a POS from day 30 until I got rid of it, but I think the idea of 'crawl' is the same.

Yeah. Only reason to buy it now is the fact that it'll fetch more when you wind up selling it... but I don't know how long that can last. Surely people will start to question why they cost so damn much when several years old... when it doesn't wow in any category.

GM/Chevy will make a mockery of this truck in t-minus 2 hours

Am I misreading something? Is part of the rear bumper fiberglass now? What are "Resin side covers"? Are the painted parts plastic? My last Tacoma was a first gen, so maybe this is the same on the 2nd gen, but it seems odd.

As I said, die hard Toyota fans. If I had missed the boat on a 2nd Gen Tacoma I wouldn't think twice about getting a 3rd Gen. In my opinion it would be the only choice out there.

Haha, die hard Toyota fans are not going to purchase enough of these trucks to make it a success.

First time truck buyers with no brand loyalty will absolutely not choose the Tacoma. People sad about their domestic truck purchase (hi, me) will not go back to Toyota. They shit the bed. So hard. Just sheet staining loose stool everywhere.

Few people buy a vehicle just because they like driving it. It has to make sense. The specs and the cost of this truck do not make sense.

Maybe not to you but others may not mind paying for the perceived reliability of a Japanese product. I looked at the specs of the Colorado and bang for the buck you can't beat it....but it's a Chevy. :crapstorm:

Is that true that there's a 6 speed 2.7L version? I wonder if the 6 speed will bolt up to the existing 5 speed?
