Back from Yosemite, Monterey, SF, Santa Rosa (aka Russian River), Redwoods, Crater Lake, Bend, and PDX.

Definitely going back to Oregon one day.

Didn't drive there, but did drive quite a bit. Picked up a rental Hyundai in Reno and dropped it in PDX, 2,200 miles. Went on a couple gravel roads that car probably wasn't rated for...Damn washboard

 

What's the only vehicle that you can take anywhere? A rental.

 

I seriously considered taking it OR in Newberry NF...there was a shortcut through the woods on a dirt NF road.

I had a friend who took a rental Jeep Patriot down black gap road in big bend. I think the oil pan was smushed. They never noticed.

Yeah. It's weird to see the northbound messed up that badly. I know they're doing construction to the on ramp there, though.
