Thanks for the quick replies. I don't want to overcrowd it with too many lights. I think I will start off with a light bar in the hoop and if I need more light, I'll look into the pods as well.

 

Haha, don't let the south FL guys here you say that. They might lynch you for heresy. Still, I think Spruce's suggestion on location and my suggestion on beam type would be perfect for that bumper.

 

My light bar has both, spot in the middle & floods on the ends. I'm not positive but I think most are like that.
My idea to add pods in that location was so the could be used as fog/ditch lights.
Run the bar & pods on separate switches.

 

It depends on the brand. Ridged has several options for combos on their light bars, including the long range spot/driving combo I mentioned.

BTW, thanks for the heads-up on the Cali Raised thing. Those actually look like they might be in my price range. You say you got a free one? Is it hooked up yet?

 

Haven't got them yet. I won a set of pods on Thursday, I'm gonna use them as ditch lights. The giveaway was to end on the 26th or when he got 50 entries, as you can guess he got 50 entries. Haha

lol, I need fiberglass fenders haha, widen the body lines and stance up...but I really need to wait to buy them since I JUST bought my tires haha....but I do have 6 months to pay the tires off though....

 

They look good, I like mine sticking out some but they make a damn mess if the truck is clean & I run through a puddle.

any suggestions/advice/dos or donts regarding wheel spacers? the only brand i'm familiar with is spidertrax

 

Tighten them....make sure they are tight lol. Spidertrax are good ones to go with. I have all pro spacers but only because I wanted 2" ones

 

I know nothing about wheel spacers but I have always wanted those fj trail team wheels and I have heard you might need wheel spacers for 33+ size tires for some folks. Spacers have always kinda scared me since I have heard some horror stories about them so I always tended to steer clear of getting them….idk

 

A little bit of blue Locktite wouldn't hurt either.

 

Every time you rotate your tires, re torque them

 

i certainly don't want them, but i am saving up for the wheels i want that have the backspacing i need. i need tires asap though so i figured it would make more sense to go up in size now rather than buying more baby tires and i think they'll cause problems with my wheels without spacers

 

The horror stories stem from washer type spacers and not using longer studs, thereby lessening the thread contact. Also from spacers that more or less float like a rotor and not being hub centric causing balancing issues.

I still feel spacers are a crutch, they're no replacement for proper wheel sizing, however the bolt on type don't generally have those issues.
I'm using 1.25" Bora spacers for now. My end plan is 35's on a 17" wheel, so I needed them on my oem 16's for clearance. I put a little anti-seize on the aluminum to steel hub surface and blue loctite on the spacer to hub bolts. Recheck torque periodically.
