    Agreed.

My truck now I can stomp the brakes and it'll roll my butt to my neck like a pink turtheneck,

It's not a matter of feeling the difference... It's the fact that it's 2015 and technology has surpassed the drum brake. Discs are superior in every way. The only advantage to a drum brake setup is that it'll last 150,000 miles. But that's just because it does such a small percentage of the actual work.

No, they make $15k pile of crap sedans, yet they offer disc brakes.

I would complain more IMO. I think Toyota is in this thread listening. Local member did a rear disc conversion, he said it felt exactly the same.
Hyundai's are nice cars :notsure: $15k crap sedan you can drive comfortably for 10 years with their warranty

    stuff...
Drum brakes work, and they work better than disc brakes. More surface area equals more stopping power, especially for heavy loads or towing. They do retain more heat and fade faster, but would you trade off a higher load rating and towing capacity just to have disc brakes? Makes no sense. Drum brakes work.

Shrug. The fact that they dropped a half a liter and only lost 1 foot pound is saying something, though. It's tough to get torque out of small motors. The question will be whether it'll be usable torque. Having it develop at a higher RPM means that you don't have as much grunt of the line, theoretically, but until we see the torque curves plotted out on a chart it's impossible to say.

Huh? What motor makes its peak torque at 2500? The current motor does it at 4k, and the new one will at 4600...
Or are you talking about the seat-of-the-pants torque rating? Because that does have to do with how much is available at lower RPM's

So much hate for the drums, they work well in pickups. My aunt has owned two Silverado's both with rear disc and has had issues with both. I love that people feel we are behind times if the truck has drum brakes, I don't see people complaints on Toyota still using leaf springs and those have been around since the wagon.

There are a lot of newer 4X4's that do not have low range. Is a shame really that a company is making a 4X4 truck and has to point out that theirs has a feature most would just expect.

I'll need to either start spending some money on mine in a couple of years, or buy new. I'd seriously consider the 2016. I'd have to see one in person and drive it. But I think it looks fine and gaining 42 HP and only giving up 1 ft lb of torque isn't a bad trade off.
