You are probably better off throwing that sealant away and using your preferred product.

Why use a quick detailer spray when you could use a quick wax (spray) instead? Do both have a place? Seems to me they have a similar functions, so why not kill two birds with one stone and just go straight to the quick wax? What am I missing here.

There seems to be many good choices out there in the spray wax (sealant) department. :D

Quick detailers aren't very popular anymore. If you car is clean then use a wipe on/wipe off spray wax. If your car is slightly dirty/dusty use a waterless wash like I mentioned in my post above. I would not use a spray wax on a dusty car since they have no added lubricants to prevent scratching/marring like a waterless wash does.

Then don't go with pinnacle. It will give results that are beautiful, but if it's on a daily driver then you will probably only get around a month out of it. Pinnacle is almost designed with show cars in mind. In other words, outstanding results but at the sacrifice of longevity.

have you tried Meguires Ultimate Liquid Wax? it's a 100% sealer- no wax in it at all. follow it with Turtle Wax Ice spray wax weekly for a nice and slick, super shiny surface. $30 bucks and you're set. It blew my mind.

Have just gotten my truck to the point where I feel that light detailing is finally working (about a year). This is after a couple clay bar rounds and a few rounds of sealant with Duragloss. Not sure what the previous owners philosophy was about washing/detailing.

i try to stay away from otc stuff, but i remember when i had my 95 camry back in 05 i was using meguire products and boy was that car buttery smooth.

and this damn 14' taco and my 14' 4runner both white, im struggling to find the winning combo. i use bfwd sealant since i have it from my 12' bsp scion xb and that makes it feel like butter but once i top it with a carnauba and a few washes/qds later back to a tacky feel. feels like i have no protection at all. i guess its time to mix it up maybe go with meguires again

I like most of the Meg's stuff and have had good luck with their products.

Also, it is easy to get.

So, I have a couple of questions, if you don't mind.
    A little background:
I bought a '15 Tacoma in September. I've been using liquid glass for as long as I can remember and have been happy with its longevity, but not necessarily its shine. I've got 2 or 3 coats of lg on the new truck, and recently ran out. I know there are better products out there, and I'm currently thinking about switching from the lg to Opti-seal. If I switch, I plan to wash, clay, poli-seal, and then apply the opti-seal. The thing I loved about the lg was the ease of application. So I guess my question is; how difficult is the opti-seal application? Is there another product with similar results that is easier to apply? If not, should I think about a product like CQuartz that is more difficult to apply, but provides better results? I'm open to any suggestions.

Also, I recently purchased a vinyl covered tonneau cover. What is the best protectant for exterior vinyl/rubber?

Last one for now: what is a good glass sealant?

I would PM TacomaWorld member Mr. Sparkle about applying Opti-Coat or Opti-Seal. He seems to have a lot of experience with these newer coatings. As far as protecting vinyl/rubber Aerospace 303 Protectant is very popular among the TW members. A little goes a long way & it does a great job! I have no suggestions for a glass sealant. I just use Stoners Invisible Glass with rain repellent after every wash.

Adams Super VRT for the tonneau cover. Won't run like 303 after rain.

Hopefully I'm posting in the right section, but I have a dilemma.

I've been asked to fix a rust spot on a Chevrolet Silverado. It's about the size of a quarter dollar right above wheel well on the bed. It's basically missing a quarter dollar size worth of paint and clearcoat and the bare metal is exposed and a little rusty, but no holes. How would you approach this?

Sell the Silverado and replace with a Tacoma. Only way to truly fix the problem. :D

Tried the Sonax Poly Netshield on the last wash a couple weeks ago. We just had some rain, so I could see how the beading was. It was great and continues to be. I am impressed so far.
I was not a fan of the application process, at first. I guess it will just take some getting used to.
But if it continues to bead as well as it does now in a few weeks/months, I am sold on it and will work through the application "snags".

    Head unit. That's it.

How steady is your hand? lol. I'd say to fix it correctly, it needs to be repainted.

That's what I did. Grinded it down to bare metal, filled the indentation, wetsanded, and repainted with a spray gun. Turned out pretty nice and the guy was really happy

I found that when I topped the Meg's Ultimate Liquid Wax with Collinite, it got tacky and just didn't look as good. Particularly in the summer. I'm back to just two coats of ULW, no topper. And I use Turtle Wax Ice spray wax after every wash. Looks and feels amazing. I doubt you'd be disappointed with the combo. Cheap too.
