Great looking rig and build, definitely inspiration for where I want to eventually get to with my truck!

Trolls are guys on the internet that love to talk sh*t and stir up drama because you might not build your truck the way they would or use it for what they would use it for. It's like little dog syndrome. For instance, since you have a 2wd and I don't... if I was troll I would have to start bad mouthing you on why 2wd's are pointless and why did you even bother buying a truck and blah blah blah while trying to make you feel horrible about even being on this forum. It's unfortunate that we all can't respect each other as car enthusiasts, especially since we all have the love for Tacoma's in common but immaturity and ignorance is unfortunately a common trait amongst trolls.

Troll thing is when someone asks a really obvious dumb question, or someone who is purposely wasting someones time. Lots of people find it funny to annoy or waste others time.

Some people do the off-road style mods because they like the looks, or the actually need it for work, or the just have a love for camping exploring offroading and need all of that gear to get into the outback and back home again.

You said you aren't offroading so what are you looking at doing? Lot of people are willing to give their help and insight just need to ask the right questions to get the right questions. Like if you just want to haul lumber and tow a trailer, then a bed rack and air bag helpers might be in order for you. Things like that

You know what......the more I look at it, the more I don't like your response. I "just found" your section because I'm new to the forum, and a new owner of a Tacoma. It kinda sounded like a crappy response from you towards me, so I looked up the term "troll". I was giving you a compliment on your work!!
Not a very good representative of this company you're talking so highly of!!!
At least take a little time to look at the profiles of who you're responding to

It wasn't a dumb question! I'm doing mods a little at a time, and I was curious at what type of money I was looking at for REALLY getting serious

It all depends on the trip and how far away my destination is. If its within a couple of hours I will leave it inflated but anything more I deflate it and throw it in the back of the truck because of wind drag. I kept it on top for a 8 hour trip when I first got it only so I could grab some photos of the whole set-up along the way.

The factory flares were only secured with the factory clips so they did have a wobble to them on the freeway. Something that drove me insane! That was another reason I bought the Bushwacker flares. They are way more stout and you can secure them with bolts on top. They are solid now plus look bad ass.

I really love what the touchscreen offers in terms of dimming, strobing, flashing etc and how small it is compared to a bunch of standard switches.

I remember seeing that truck when it first got built. Pretty rad for sure!

It is seriously the unsung hero in the camping world! I absolutely love it and the fact that I don't have to have a dedicated kitchen station on my trailer is ideal because then I can take this sherpa and throw it in my truck when I'm not bringing the trailer along. Worth every penny!

It's kind of an uncomfortable question to ask to someone, its kind of personal cause what if you put a $100k into something and you like the way it looks but you get 100 people bad mouthing it and then you regret doing something. (Trying to play devil advocate)

I'll do the general Tacoma Mods list:
Basic lift kit with new rear leaf packs and Upper Control Arms - $1,500
    Wheels and Bigger Tires - $800 - 1,200
    Front Bumper - $800- 1,300
    Rear - $600 - 2,000
    Skids - approx $ 250 each
    Sliders $300+
CB Radio - $200 ish all in

Thats all without shipping and such and things vary. I have dumped around $1,500 alone in just front suspension parts.. Things add up really fast. Now you may not need/want all of that. Lets say you will never see offoad then basic level kit and some bigger tires and you are all in for less then $1,000... or you just want to haul the boat around so maybe some load leveling bags in the rear. To each their own since its your own truck and build it 100% how you want it!

Like tell us what is your end goal? Daily Driver and weekend warrior? or something

Whoa!!! Re-Read my response. I wasn't talking bad about you or what you have etc I am all for everyone building things their way! You asked what a Troll was, So I told you and explained it and said it's unfortunate that there are guys out there that do this... I never said your question was dumb. Not sure where all this is coming from but please take the time to re-read the posts.

If anyone is "trolling", it would be anyone trying to make something out of my innocent post (look up the definition of trolling). My post had nothing to do with what my intentions are for my truck. I was simply giving compliment to a lot of hard work.....and curious about a random guess as to how much he may have put into his rig

More of that response was towards your fan @jztacoma. It was the main body of "your" response that got my initial response. I do agree that "trolls" can ruin a good thread.....and yours seems to be very helpful to those going more in your direction. I was just curious about expense. I'm just doing simple, first mods.....and was wondering what I was in for. Customizing this nice truck has gotten hold of me quick

Jason, I never said you were trolling and I don't know the total amount that is in my truck and I really don't care — it would probably give me a heart attack lol I will look that number up when and if I ever sell the truck. You asked me what I troll was, I explained it to you and it seems you misread it as an attack on you...?

If you are worried about expense just look at my first post on this thread. It has links to every product I currently have so if that product interests you that link will bring you to its page for more info and pricing. It took me a long time to keep that first post fresh and linked so take advantage lol Not every part I have will work for your truck and a lot of it you won't want so me trying to figure out a retail amount thats into my truck currently will do you no good, just a random number — not apples to apples ya know.
