If GM offered just one seat color choice (like Toyota does ), this problem would have been avoided.

But its a completely different seat!

I thought about waiting for the Colorado before I got my Tacoma... very glad I didn't.

Looks like it's based off of the Holden Colorado.

^Yep, and it comes only with the smaller diesel, not the 2.8L. Per GM practice, most of the "fury" is in the styling.

I like the styling of the new Canyon, except the bed. I think the bed looks too tall for the size of the truck. Makes the rear window look to small, and makes the truck look like it has more of a rake than it really does.

Agreed, but correct me if I'm wrong its deeper than ours, one of my chief complaints with our trucks is the shallow bed.

Oh that's not much, I couldn't remember when I bought my Silverado last year they had one, I only sat in it though, cabin was cheap and felt cramped, didn't look at the bed.

From what I've seen in reviews, the Canyon doesn't feel as cheap as the Colorado. And for the price, I'd rather buy a Sierra.

True, its funny, as I was trading in my taco the guy was buying the Colorado wanted to sit in my truck and loved it (was lifted, beadlocks, etc.) he then asked what I was trading it on (Silverado) and mentioned how expensive I then told him about the $10k in rebates and next thing I know he's driving off with the same truck in gray. Still ended back in a Taco for good reasons.

Speaking of Get a Mechanic products, GM is set to import Buicks made in China to the U.S.

"Industry analysts expect that the automaker will import the compact crossover Buick Envision from a plant in China to U.S. dealerships by the end of 2016. In fact, IHS Automotive analysts are so sure it will happen, they've already integrated it into their official U.S. sales forecasts."

One can never have too many light bars.
Sounds like Toyota had more of a short term cash flow problem rather than being on the brink of bankruptcy. If TFS didn't have the cash to loan then financing rates would need to go up and either Buyers would look elsewhere to other companies which would harm production or TFS would lose out to other banks for car loans. Financing is a huge source of profits for car companies. Sounds like TFS just did what banks do here all the time and borrow money from the Japanese version of the FED.

If you question the quality of a Toyota out of Mexico, then you're probably not going to be happy with a GM out of China. Eventually vehicles from China will be a thing in North America. The labour is cheap and they can be extremely price competitive. If the quality falls off though like on the iPhone, then they won't sell well for long though.

The big issue right now with China is that they don't recognize patent law. Chinese knock off BMWs and Land Rovers are becoming a big problem and stock holders of the other companies aren't comfortable with allowing all of their patent designs into China at the moment.

That is all true. China doesn't respect patients at all. You have to be really careful even buying some electronic components now online because it is likely a made in China knockoff (Intel in particular). I was speaking about China in general though. They have a few auto companies as well and they are hungry to come to North America.

Anyone ever see the Top Gear episode of the vehicles China makes? They can keep them.

It's just more American these days to buy a vehicle with some Chinese parts, than to buy one made in China. :oldglory:

    Sad but true.

I wonder if the Toyota frame issue could be from Chinese steel. I know China doesn't exactly have a good reputation for making high grade steel consistently.
