I bought a 15 and plan on keeping it a LONG time. All this crap about self driving cars makes me wonder... uh.... A: I want to drive my own damn car (Truck) still.
B: Even if all the major auto companies sell these things and available mainstream in the next 5 years(doubt it)... likely ten years will this turn into a now I don't even off-road with control yet alone on the road with a car/truck? Technology is way crazy progressive. My original I phone had more CPU capability then the first rocket to land on the moon. Allegedly.

Point is why do we debate about getting for instance the 16 versus the 15 when if in fact you plan; as I do, to keep your Taco a long time then we will be far surpassed by tech anyway so it probably doesn't matter anyway. With that rant said... wonder what the douche bags reading the paper with their computer law abiding auto driving vehicles will do as the "ole timers" cause that's what we will then be called pass them controlling our own damn trucks ( cars ) :)

I hate to break it to you, but with self driving cars on the roads, we will have less deaths, less accidents, less tickets and lower insurance .. old timer.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Oh I definitely disagree. I love the idea as I become older and soon face my own mortality. My pops is in his 90s and had to give up driving and now that my mom is up in years (actual age unknown??) they are pretty much home bound unless someone comes by and takes them out. YIKES, that is not the kind of life I want in my old age. And I don't have any kids I can guilt into taking their old man around. So I'm left with self driving cars. In fact I'll go one step further. I want my 2060 Tacoma to have an autonomous off road driving capability so I can still enjoy some 4wheeling. Of cours the thing will be electric by then so the only engine noise I'll hear is simulated, but hey maybe I'll be deaf by then - lets hope so :) That's my dream anyway.

I just hope self driving cars pull over when you get behind them because you know they are going to be extra slow...

The biggest problem with the self driving cars is that eventually, those of us that still want to drive ourselves, the insurance will be far too outrageous to afford. I think it's a long ways off, probably be an apocalypse between now and then anyway so no need to panic. Yet.

LOL...someone forgot to enable the feature before letting off the brake?

I saw an article (can't find it now) where Volvo was selling their intelligent driving packages separately, so you could get the "self parking" feature separate from the "don't run into pedestrians" feature. That resulted in a Volvo that ran a lady over while parking itself.
