I'm sorry to hear you are still having ride issues.

According to the manufacturers spec sheet, the Fuel Trophy in the Tacoma 6-139.7 bolt pattern has a 108mm center bore diameter, making the wheels lug centric. See the spec sheet linked below for details.

Do you know if hub centric rings were installed? If not, hub centric rings are available for this application which will make centering the wheels easier.

Hub centric rings were not installed. The manager took the center cap off and showed me that there was no room for the rings and that the wheels were already hub centric. Everything I am coming across is confirming what you are saying and disproving what the manager is telling me. So from what you are telling me and what I have researched is that I need a hub ring for these lug centric wheels?

 

It's possible the spec sheet is wrong. I would call Ryan and ask him to order in a set of hub centric rings for you to at least test fit. The product code you need is 80504 (ring size 108-106.1).

On a side note, you do not need to run hub centric rings but like noted earlier, they make centering the wheel on the hub easier. Check out this write-up we put together for more information.

This is exactly why I insisted on Hub centric wheels.

My old Lug centric wheels were fine for the most part but if the installer was in a hurry, they always are.. and powered on my lugs with air tools then sometimes even if the wheel was balanced would sit funny.

I had similar issues with my duratracs until I found a good tech who was able to rebalance them right at DT in Acworth - the tire needed to be moved on the rim, I asked them to do it before but they would not listen at another store, the last tech fixed the issue in 15min and the wheel in question balanced out just fine with a 3rd of the original weight

 

Ended up caving in.... www.4wd.com is running a sale and there was $50 off a set of 4 with free shipping... Just shy of $658 for a full set of 4 (265/75/16) shipped. Another $60 to get them mounted and balanced, can't say i'm disappointed at all at that price.... Really excited to see these on the truck despite my reservations with the heavy tires on an already under powered engine.

For those of you with 265/75/16s what pressure are you running?

I'm having mine installed tomorrow and was thinking of having them set then at 35 psi first and seeing how it goes.

Thanks for the link. I ended up getting the price beat by a whole dollar at a local discount tire and paid $163 per tire. Great deal in my opinion and the truck rides so much smoother. The tires I had before were the bfg ko and they had 7 years on them. I probably could have squeezed out a few more miles out of them but the rubber was hard and I didn't feel confident driving on the highway on 7 year old rubber in the southern Arizona heat. So I got these mounted today, very impressed with the overall look and feel. I can't say I notice any real significant difference in power despite the 12lb per tire increase. We'll see if my MPG takes a hit after I get some time with these tires. Overall I was expecting more of a harsh feel but it didn't feel worse than normal, just different, slightly sturdier, but not harsh, if that makes sense.



Overall a huge improvement visually compared to the previous set of tires, (OEM Rugged Trails).

 

Mpg will take a hit. Mine did.
But for the security i feel with the tire, it's worth it. Imop

 

Many people claim their mpg takes a hit. I have 275/70/17 and get an average 17 mpg. I run chevron or shell gasoline only though.

 

Well after spending pretty much all day at discount tire I returned the KO2's and have a set of Nitto Grappler G2 on order. I got the hub rings installed and still it did not go well. Way too much movement in the steering wheel. They suggested the G2's so I will be giving those a shot. Only down side is that they come in P or E ratings. I know I cannot touch the E load but I feel the P might be too light and weak. I don't think they have ordered them yet so I still have time. Would you guys suggest the P or the E? I wish the KO2's worked out but for some reason even after 4 balancing, whole new set of tires, hub rings, ET lugs they still shake like crazy. For now I have the stock tires on until my nitto's come in, at least no more shake

 

I have around 5k on my 265/75 BFG AT KO2 tires so far and I like them a lot. The handle fine on the road and they've passed the test during some pretty aggressive off-roading (crawling over rocks, creek beds, climbing creek banks, steep hills, etc). With the larger and heavier tire I lost about 2 MPGs on average with 80% highway driving during my work commute...oh-well.

I'd definitely recommend the tires but if I could go back and buy again I'd probably go with 245/75 tires. A buddy of mine went with that size and they look great, with less impact on mileage and probably better in the snow.
