Make sure you don't get in a crash with that F150 model it'll crumple up like a soda can. Search fro it on YouTube. The Super Crew is good but your model is horrible. Cant believe Ford put that thing on the streets.
Edit: just saw all the talk about how weak the SuperCab is and videos posted. I guess everyone knows about how dangerous that model is now

If anyone thinks your getting what kelly's blue/black book says your a naïve individual! Its not what your truck is worth, its what someone is willing to give you for it!!

Is that an actual airbag in that Toyota or a balloon? Sorry but I'd take my chances in a Ford over any Toyota.

Well Ford has a long history of this, remember the Pinto? Ahh the memories.

Anyway, this will translate into some sweet deals as Ford unloads all these and chugs along through their production year until they can come out with the redesign next year.

I think the real "moral of the story" here is never buy the first model year of any vehicle.

In my profession we apply this to operating systems and PC hardware. The 1st year buyers (aka fanboys) are just BETA testers making the product ready fro the rest of us. I am thankful for them and the valuable service they provide to the rest of us by spending their money first on an unproven new design/technology.

So I'm a fanboy for buying a first year F150? Maybe I just like 20 mpg IRL mpg in a truck that can tow my trailer and don't give a ratass about an unrealistic test ;).

How about you try a crash test against a 2015 F150. See how that goes ;).

Not a fan of that car, but to each his own. You couldn't even drive that here with our roads.

Congratulations on the new truck. It's your money to spend. I don't understand what everyone is fussing about.

Same issues as with the Tacoma honestly:

    1) The backseat wasn't practical for my dog (love my flat floor in the 150)
    2) MPG are about the same between F150 and Colorado (some reviews even say Colorado fuel economy is only about 18 or 19 combined) 3) The Colorado drove like a car, which some may like, but if I'm paying truck prices, I wanted it to drive like a truck
    4) OTD price were comparable but a little more for the Ford but with more features/use/utility
    5) I don't plan on going off road on tight trails
    6) Space/comfort in a full size cannot be beat
    7) Not trying to start any wars here, but the whole bailout thing still has me put off

But the midnight edition Colorado is nice.

Nice truck OP. I have been waiting for the gen 3 for two years and I spent alot of that time thinking about just getting a FS. I actually prefer a Ram to the Fords but both are nice. But, unlike some on here I really like the new generation so I am going to stick with the original plan and buy a new Tacoma 6 or 7 months after they are released.

    I drove an f150
I like it. It was a little more truck than I needed and I just didn't love the new look.
However it drove nice and the inside was awesome.
    Congratulations on the new rig!

Congrats! I had the opposite experience. I researched new F150s before finally going to buy one. I too went to McDonalds to mull things over and found myself at the Toyota dealership, where my future Tacoma spoke to me.

    None at this time.
I looked at the Tundra and couldn't pull the trigger on the worse gas Mileage I've seen. We use fords as fleet vehicles in the county parks dept and they hold up better than any American made truck out there.
I was on the fence with the same truck but wanted the 4x4. The 2.7 twin turbo just seems like too small of an engine. That thing must really sing. They are having good results so far I guess.

The sales guy, along with their "closer", and I agreed on a price after about an hour of back and forth. We shook hands and started the credit process. They ran my credit (over 800, not bragging, adds to the story) and then a new shifty looking guy came out of the bullpen. This new guy said, "I have bad news, the math doesn't add up. We cannot sell you this truck for that price." He said they had to charge me $36 more a month and that the sales guy agreed to a price that was too low.

At that point I was pissed. We sat down and he kept telling me "the math doesn't add" trying to explain how things didn't divide evenly and spilling a ton of BS. I told him I didn't care about his "math" and that we already agreed to a price. He then said, "well show me in writing where we agreed to that" and that they didn't have authority to quote me a price. He said he never agreed to it and that the negotiation process was just to get a ballpark figure.

The sales guy, during the original negotiation, let it slip that the owner was at the dealership that day. So after talking with the a-hole above, I started demanding to speak with the owner. I told him that you don't shake a man's hand and then back out on the agreement (maybe if my credit wasn't perfect I could see an issue). I'm not yelling, but making sure everyone at the tables negotiating around me can hear me. I'm a level headed aggressive negotiator and I don't think he was expecting this. He went and brought back the general manager. The GM asked my original salesman if we agreed to the price (he of course said yes) and the GM immediately said they would honor the original agreement and that they would deal with the "issue" on Monday.

It was an awful experience, but I don't blame Ford. I blame an oxford looking prick who took me as a pushover.

    Nice story.

The sad thing is that I bet the GM just tells the bullpin guy to only pick on the ones that look dumb, not the people who look like they know what they are talking about.
