I would've purchased an offroad over sport had they offered it in double cab. Box length didn't matter for me, but I needed a double cab. My god Toyota Canada

American here. will def. travel up to Ontario or Manitoba to get a 3.5L V6 4x4 TRD Off-Road AC with Manual transmission. Glad it's available up North. Hope it's not overly difficult to bring back stateside.

My next truck, in probably another 5 years, will likely be a 2020 TRD Offroad Access Cab. Even though I really need the double cab for the kid/kids I could get away with the access cab and just use the wifes truck for family trips. I want the locker and shorter total length on my next truck and that's the only way to get it.

If the dollar goes under 70 cents he'll end up getting a good deal. I don't think Toyota will raise the price as fast as the dollar is falling. I think they'll just have a moderate MSRP increase for this year and then continue to raise the MSRP every year until they are happy with what they are making.

Importing a vehicle across US-Canada border may not be overly difficult, but it will be costly especially for a new vehicle. Then what about the warranty issue? Will Toyota USA honour the warranty on a Canadian vehicle? Something to check.

Typically yes, between Canada and the USA, warranty is honoured in both countries. Also with the dollar the way it is, it may not be so terrible to get a Canadian model in the USA.

They're just pictures from Toyota USA, it happens all the time in brochures and so on (USA-market vehicle shown, specifications may differ.), etc.

    There won't be a TRD Off-Road DC in Canada for 2016. :(

Yeah, when I bought my double cab (2013) I'm pretty sure the sales brochure had a picture of a double cab Tacoma TRD Offroad in there but it wasn't listed in the back of the brochure. I remember being confused about that.

From the poll in another thread, it seems my configuration DCSB 4x4 A/T TRD Off-road would be winner also here... And Toyota (Canada...???) said they listen to customers:

    TRD Off-Road 29 vote(s)49.2%
    4x4
    41 vote(s) 69.5%
    V6 47 vote(s) 79.7%
    Automatic 47 vote(s) 79.7%
    Short Bed 26 vote(s) 44.1%
    Double Cab 38 vote(s) 64.4%

Toyota Canada, wake up !!!! There is time to adjust and offer this configuration...

I think that they do that in order to keep the amount of different models down. But I do agree with you. They should bring the TRD Off Road to Canada. Maybe it will be changed in the future.

They are likely to jack up the price on the 2015s because of all the disgruntled people ( me included) over the 2016s

I see one to two of those a month. Sometimes they include a fake cheque that says "maximum value" for my trade in where the amount should be.

This decision by Toyota Canada makes no sense

The decision makers probably think only young male are doing off-road, so AC seems enough for them. They surely never made off-roading anyway.
