My dad got 16k for his 2002 Prerunner earlier this year when it was totaled - granted he had the newer model replacement policy so i think they gave him 14k orignally before the bonus for the model year newer. Keep fighting the insurance until you get what you want!

Ok so waiting on supervisor to let me know what the most recent offer is, ive been looking for trucks. I found a tacoma that says its a SR5 and a TRD offroad. Are you able to get both in one truck?? the vin says SR5 but the sides of the truck say TRD offroad.

Any TRD packages build on top of an SR5. Until 2010 or 2011 the TRDs had an SR5 badge on them. At some point someone at Toyota decided that was pointless and redundant so they don't anymore.

I did contact an attorney about all of this. Got an offer at 5PM yesterday and its only about $600 away from what i was asking. The next step if i would have fought it more would have been for me to get my own appraiser (which i did contact and it would have cost me $400) and they would send one with the one i hired. If they decided on a number less than any of the offers, I would have had to taken it. So im going to take the offer. I have found a few trucks that im interested in, just having to finish the process and then go look. Its not enough to fully pay off a truck but its close enough if i get a truck my payments wont go up. Going to Mall of GA Toyota today and looking at one of the trucks. Most of the trucks i have looked at are within the 2007 range with less than 80000K miles on them. I found a 2010 within the same range too. All under 20K.

Glad you're getting it sorted out, I skimmed over the tread and didn't see any pics of the vehicle that hit you... do you have any?

hey, no i dont. it was a ford escape. i should have gotten pics of his but i was too pissed about mine. When i went to the wreckers to get pics of his they had already taken it away. He had full front end damage, front frame support was busted, radiator buster, front axles broke, bumper on the ground.

Ouch, you got hit pretty hard. Glad you weren't hurt and hopefully the kid will learn something from this. I continue to be amazed by how tough these trucks are for their size.

Unfortunately insurance companies can give two shits about anything aftermarket. They call it a "personal preference" and assign it no value. I only know this because my business partner went through this last year. A lady pulled out in front of him and totaled his GTI. He, his wife and their unborn child were in the hospital for a long time. His GTI had after market header, exhaust, stage 2 tuned, aftermarket bumpers, lowered and tires literally had less than 20 miles on them. Had them installed the night before, $1000 and insurance gave him less than $100 for them. All in all they basically rated the car as a stock GTI even though he had at least $10k in options. And it wasn't him fighting with insurance, he used a legit and reputable lawyer and that is all they would do.

But, glad everyone is okay in your situation. Could have been much worse, to the point where we saw a post about you no longer being with the world and leaving your loved ones behind. It's just a truck and can be replaced.

I have Erie for home and auto and have nothing but good things to say about them. They're far cheaper than any other company I called and I have yet to have a problem with them.

Someone stopped in front of me in an attempt to turn, then decided not to at the last second which caused me to rear end them. Of course, it was my fault since I hit them but with a dash cam I could have proved otherwise. Anyways, they had Erie and so did I. Erie has a policy where if both parties are insured through them, no one pays a deductible. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me! So no money out of my pocket for repairs but my rates did go up a little bit. Less than I expected though, $4800 in damage on my car, $3000 on theirs. All was a completely painless process and they did offer me a rental car but I declined since I had the truck too. Ended up selling the car after the repairs because it looked like shit and the body shop basically told me to shove it.

Your rates went up with only 4800 in damage? Seems outside the norm for Erie company to increase your rates based on such a low payout.

    $12,800 total

$4800 for my car, $3000 for theirs and then I am sure they paid out the PIP for the two people in the car I hit which is normally $2500 per person.
