I personally wouldn't go to a shop, local members can help install a lift (I've installed 5100's and OME 883's on my truck) and we will do it for pizza and sodas (or beer, for the folks who are old enough).

The only thing that you would need a shop for would be an alignment, but I believe that the shop in kiln (just south of kiln/delisle rd on 603) was advertising alignments for 60-70 dollars.

    Welcome

    Yup, I'm down as long as it's Friday-Sunday, I have college m-thurs 0800-1600.

I ordered the tools needed to do the DIY alignment (thread is on TW) so we could probably get it close if you needed to drive it a few days before an alignment.

Hey guys I'm hunting some cheap 16 inch wheels. Was just going to check to see if anyone here had some laying around they didn't want anymore. Would rather not stock wheels because it needs to fit a larger tire. So if anyone has any laying around, hit me up. I'm not picky just don't want them cracked or warped.

Hello everyone I'm new to the Tacoma world, I'm looking to do the same lift kit, any feedback on the kit. Do you have a full spring on rear or AAL leaf only. What size tires are you running now.

This is 8" lift up front and 4" in the rear. 4" maxtrac's spindles and lift coils up front and all pro standard leaf springs in the rear. So it is a replacement leaf pack, not AAL. I'm putting a 3" block in the rear soon to level it while I save for an alcan pack. 285/75r16 tires which equals 33x11.5.

That would be solid. I just got stationed down here so been hectic inprocessing. Any recommendations for kits of 4-6 inches? was thinking of OME but there are so many others that seem good. Idk if i should get a single full lift kit or take springs/leafs/blocks/suspensions from different companies. Hoping to meet some more taco owners in the area!

I'm slightly biased because I like to overbuild stuff, and I'm by no means a suspension expert, but here's my questions and thoughts.

    1. Are you getting the lift for offroading, or just to fit bigger tires/lift? I assume the latter because of how new the truck is.

Block lifts are a no-go to me, to much axle wrap and I just don't like the idea of the spring mount being moved that far above the axle, also some blocks (not sure if it's cast or forged or what) are prone to cracking.

Spacers are a no-go on the front because if you use a stock length shock you either over compress the spring, or over compress the shock and destroy the shock.

there are tons of thread to read in the suspension forum if you haven't read yet with the pros and cons of each, but for me a simple OME kit is the way to go, parts are readily available, suspension geometry is close to stock, you get better ground clearance than with a drop bracket.

you could also get OME front suspension and build your own leaf pack for the rear (that is the route I took)

+2 to everything Jake said. I ordered block for mine only because I'm in school playing football so I'm not working now. But when I go back to work I'm getting a custom alcan pack. Other than that I ordered parts rather than a kit so that I didn't waste money on parts I didn't want.
