I tend to disagree if you have a nice drill press to hold it...:p

Way too much $$$. I have a Amazon special like 60 bucks I put on my boat, and have the exact one on the polaris ranger. Neither have given me issue and light up more than enough. Just cant seem to find a single row one.

Rick, those holes are sharp! No drill press here, unfortunately.

1000 bucks vs 200, i doubt you are going to get 800 bucks worth more light. Besides, a year from now the technology will be even better, and the year after that...... Its a light bar, for extra light off road. No way is a 40 inch single row light bar worth a grand IMO. The 20 inch double row on the boat and polaris are more than enough and only 60 bucks invested. They take a real beating in water, and brush. The front of the boat gets soaked and beat to death by the chop and salt water. Still works.... When it breaks will be replaced by another less expensive light bar.

You'd be surprised how much better the light is. It's all in what works best for you though end the end. Rigid works best for me and being one of the top names in the business I'm comfortable with that. :)

    That would definitely help!
Btw Rick, would you mind taking a pic from inside your truck with your 40" light bar on (to see light output and amount of glare off hood)?
I'm stuck between the single and double row.

Me too. The single looks sharp. If it throws light anything like the 20 inch double generic then is should light up the world. I too was also worried about glare coming back. When the light bar was mounted behind the front of the boat just a few inchs the glare was blinding. I put it on a rod holder the went over the water and in front of the hull and it is perfect. IT is a combo flood/spot. I was thinking of looking for a spot single row.

Lots of companies use the 'same' LED's. That's not the whole story. It's the OPTICS that really make the difference. Get a Rigid Industries SR2 40" Combo (Hyperspot and Driving lense) you will have no hood glare issues. Plus the light will be in actual useful beam vs scatter light all over the place.

So from the sound of it, you're recommending the SR2(Specter, Hyperspot / Driving) over the SR (Hybrid, Spot / Flood Combo)?
The SR2 is a little more money but if that means less hood glare, then that's the right one for me.

Seriously, Rick, I'm in no hurry to see those pictures. Don't even have the rack installed yet. Take care of your little girl! I can wait :)

Here's a pic, but I just realized that my light bar is aimed too low. But you'll notice there's no crazy glare from the light bar on the hood 20150828_194933.jpg and as a matter of fact there would be less if I aimed it higher which is what I need to do.

Thank you :D! That's just the picture I need. I'm sure others will agree as well.
I assuming they're in the Hyperspot beam pattern?
