No need to take it off. I just taped and masked the bumper and fenders then painted the gap.

I didn't have to trim mine at all and I still have about 1/8" between the D2 and the metal that holds the light trim in place. I can still adjust my D2 up, down, back, and forth with no problem. My bumper is also mounted all the way up which still leaves me with a 1/2" gap between the fender on both sides. Which is about what you need when off roading so it doesn't hit the fender when flexing off road. Only mistake I made was not buying the DOT approved D2's. Since I have them wired directly into the factory fog light switch I can't use them on the road. They are bright as fuck.

EDIT: I did have to shim the drivers side with 2 washers to make it even across the front. It set in slightly further on the drivers side than the passengers side. Doing this made it perfectly even all the way around.

Yeah, I trimmed it cause the 1/8'' wasn't enough for me when I had the truck out'n'about wheeling. I could hear the metal-metal rub occasionally. But in the end, all of our trucks are slightly different, all that matters is what works for everyone :notsure: @Denk and others now have multiple ideas on what to do if the need should arise

Can i use your 31m battery to secure the battery inside of truck bed tool box if i use correct legth J-hooks?
I was looking for pics of how it mounted on both sides of the cage but i came up empty.

Indeed. The install specifics usually end up being just as custom as the product you're installing. Unfortunately I'll have to wait until the weekend to get any more done.

Definitely contact Tyler or Satin about it. I had an issue with mine snapping (bad steel or something) on no force. Tyler took care of me and its like a 2 second job to replace it.

These. Should have bought the DOT but wasn't thinking. No big deal but I can't leave my fog light switch on since they are spots.

Are the D2s that different. I have the normal duals in amber floods and I don't get flashed that theyre too bright ever.

I imagine the amber aren't "quite" as bright (or at least diffused enough). I've run mine once at night and got flashed immediately.

But being this bright I deserved to be flashed

I used to run my chinese brand LED PODS with 6 LED's at night and only got flashed 2 or 3 times, cops never cared but then again depends on where you live. The amber takes away A TON of light.. Good for in snow/dust but not in all conditions.
