For best results the diff breather mod needs to be done while the axle is underwater

Ok. You make it sound easy haha. And I'm sure it is. I just don't know how long I can keep driving the truck the way it is before something bad happens. I havent seen oil in the driveway yet but I think the factory skid is holding most of it.
Thanks I will definitely try this.

Took off the bed rack and tent now that I have a garage to throw it in. Looks weird but starting to like it again.

I'm thinking 96-02 T4R seats are all as I don't think that they
    in your Taco?

I think they're similar but the I think the 4runner ones have taller side bolsters

Definitely want to change the seal sooner than later IMO, I'm pretty sure nothing bad should happen unless the oil level drops below what it's supposed to be though.. (Full..)

Removing the front diff wasn't exactly easy but it's definitely do-able in one day/afternoon, if you do it on a weekend you should be good IMO. Just make sure you have a 12mm Allen or whatever the correct size is.

Ha yes, one of the first mods that need to be done to deal with the south jersey puddles. This truck definitely is no stranger to water.

Haha yeah, I've been busy nonstop for the past 3 weeks. From travelling, getting married, and now moving houses.
Haha you're right... Main reason for it was because gas mileage and I have to go buy some furniture.

Trying to decide if i should remove my sliders and change the angle or just leave them. when i had them welded the guy put them a pretty high angle. i want to make sure they are at an ok angle and will still protect my body. Any opinions??

Eh, see my Build Thread sig link. Too many mods to list.
I just recently fixed my AC...or rather lack of.

I have slider console controls as opposed to knobs.

I took the console apart to just take a look and discovered something that I should have taken a pic of.

Not knowing the correct part terminology, I'll describe it as best as possible:

When I slide the hot/cold slider, inside the console it is connected to a wire that manually opens/closes some kind of flapper door back in there to allow warm air in or not. The cable has a sheath on it (like a bicycle brake line). The problem in my situation was that the sheath had come loose on the lever end. So what happened when I moved the slider was that instead of the wire itself moving back and forth in the sheath, the whole sheath moved, so the wire wasn't actually actuating the flapper door. I tried snapping the sheath back into the plastic retention mechanism, but apparently it's worn over the last 18 years and kept popping out

    So, I MacGyver'd it.

I took a small washer that I had and clipped a piece of it out so it looks like a C. I snapped the sheath back in where it was supposed to be, then slipped the newly made C clip over the sheath and used some small long nose pliers to crimp the C clip opening more closed.

Now when I slide the lever, the sheath is held in place by the washer and the wire slides freely inside, actuating the flapper properly. After I did that, I can actually hear the flapper go thump as is closes. I don't think I've ever heard that since I've owned my Taco. Nor have I had as cold air as I do now.
