I don't think you get the level of hood flutter I am talking about. If she's taking up a legal avenue to get the truck bought out by GM it's not "fluttering", it's more like "hammering itself to death".

Anyways it was just a complaint that is relevant to the conversation. I'm not here to sway your decision. You seem pretty set on a Colorado so what do you care when I mention a legit problem a first year owner I personally know is having? This is just like your warranty for every mod talk. It's not contributing, it's just fighting for your opinion that doesn't have much basis.

Because rubber doesn't wear out from fluttering. Think like a bungie cord. The colorado hood is not held on by rubber straps though. It's held on by a metal latch that doesn't like being rocked back and forth. Think about it. Ever hear of metal fatigue from slight bending over time?

this forums blind stupidity amazes me. like how do you people function without outside help?

I listed a problem with my driveline toyota IGNORES. it could weaken and sheer off mid commute full of small children near a ravine. But that would go against your hatred for GM statement. carry on.

Dude I have nothing against GM. I've owned several GM's and all of them had issues. I'm just talking about the issues that are in forums, in writing, or have happened to people I know with the Colorado. I'm sorry your driveline is going to kill a 4Runner full of kids , but let's ease the butthurt. You don't have to agree with me. This is the internet. Enjoy your new Colorado.

Doesn't mean it can't happen. If it happens to flutter to the point where a decent amount of wind gets under the hood at 80mph that's a lot of force and over time could put a lot of stress on the main latch

    Yup.

Hell what do I know though. Maybe GM's engineers will prove in court that the hood is supposed to vibrate like that :D.

This is a "look out Toyota" thread on a Tacoma forum. It's not irrational to make rational arguments on why not to buy a vehicle in a topic pertaining to such.

If you want warm fuzzy reasons to buy the Colorado, I suggest 355nation.com . That's where I hung out a bit when the wife and I checked out the Colorado when she was buying her new vehicle. Just try to avoid the issues forum. It's massive.

If you go Diesel with 4x4 the minimum price is $35K. If you want a Z71, much like a TRD, you won't find one for less that 36K (which assumes you get 3K off from the MSRP and you don't get many options packages). All midsized trucks are getting ridiculously expensive.

Truth be told I'm 100% interested in the 16 Tacoma. I just have had a lot of vehicles and am open minded. My Toyota has had equal problems my GMs had.

Cheapest Colorado Diesel after all the incentives will be somewhere around $30k.. Thats from dealer price list, told by Dealer who is eager to sell the truck. If not for me wanting to drive both Titan and Colorado I could have pre-ordered Colorado for cheaper than 2015 Tacoma.
Problem is I dotn buy cars with out checking them out first.

If thats what they have for their first year thats not bad
    Remember 2 gen problems
    1. Cracked frame under engine mounts (Not covered by Toyota even today )
    2. Head gasket problem for almost every 2005 -2006 truck
    3. Bend tailgate...
    4. Bend frame due to weak brace under the cab.

3 of those turn your truck into Salvage title..
