Only 4-6k for a Toyota Diesel

    :(

EBay has a few. I can see why the previous owner went Chevy, prob cost him under 2k.

I will never understand why Toyota feels that the US market won't be good for these motors. If the big 3 can produce a motor to clear our emission laws, why can't Toyota?
Fucking Tundra gets 12mpg and its practically outselling everything we have in a full sized.

I think one thing is that the people interested in buying diesels are Diehard ram/chevy/ford fans and would just laugh at having a jap truck even if it's performance was equal with the big 3. Issue isn't building one that can meet yhe standards, it's paying for all the testing and stuff to be accepted here. The would be toyota share of the full size diesel market isn't big enough for them to put the loads of money into it being approved. That's the gubment fer ya

I think that the R&D is bullshit. You think that Prius motor didn't take a shit ton of R&D? They had a way around it, put the Cummins in it for the first few years and watch that thing upset the big 3.

They've had a diesel for a long time and I doubt it would be very hard for a powerhouse like Toyota to retro a motor to clear our emissions regulations

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
Franken Throttle Cable is born...sorta...fucking thing is 3 cables and a universal kit into 1 nasty thing. It's going to work though. Didn't even realize I was out of electrical tape and that's a key part of this bitch.

I'm fucking tired of working on this cable and my fingers are bloody from it but I think the solution is here. I'll grab some tape tomorrow and finish it up.

    GM/universal

Again the problem isn't making the engine pass, it's not that hard to change the current yota diesels to make them pass. It's paying the government for all the testing permits and bs. At least that's the reason I heard from toyota.

What possessed you to transplant a GM diesel or buy a cruiser with one transplanted? I'm not sure which is the case

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
    I bought it transplanted...

It is a rust free, 3x Locked LC. Here that would fetch a premium... plus it had a diesel swap, Canadian seats, and bunch of other stuff that saved me some coin in having to buy like dual batteries and what not. So was a 6.2 the choice engine I would have gone with...No. But it's in there, it better than the I6 stock crap and I have been having small problem after small problem so I really can't bitch too much. The plan was to work all these bugs out before the wife gets back from Deployment in the Fall so I'm still good.
