Right on, you'll have a blast. Public transport is easy. Belize City proper is just minutes from the airport, and the water taxi's to the Caye's are right in downtown BC, all within walking distance of major hotels. The water taxi's are a fun way to get out to the islands, super affordable and they run on a regular schedule so it's easy to get a ride out. Once at the island (Caye Caulker), you simply walk everywhere, it's a tight area and a small island... 10-15 places to grab a meal within a 10 minute walk. I'd go back to Caulker in a heartbeart and in fact plan to take the Mrs soon. The diving is great, the atmosphere is super laid back (think Caribbean feel), good food, fun nightlife and pretty wallet friendly. We used Bert's Scuba, highly recommended. He only takes out small groups and owns his own boat.

Best one yet. I'm a huge fan of the show but so far its been watching you guys take a vacation. Until this episode. It was cool to see you guys help out people that way. Truly eye opening. Fingures crossed for some wheeling, winching, maxtrax, and adventure in the unknown.

For real. The younger patients received a local anesthetic, the older patients just took it. The Mayans are some seriously tough people!

Wow what a great show. Just watched Alaska Episode 1 and 2. Really well done, great camerawork, tells a story and actually keeps you engaged beyond just looking at the sweet trucks. I'm hooked.

Show is kind of dragging on compared to last season...I like that they're changing the world but seems more like spin-off of the original intent.

And that to me is the absolute sign of success with this show. Do it, plan a trip, invite some friends and get out!

Really glad to hear you're enjoying it!

Interesting observation. I wasn't on the Alaska trip and while I've watched the season several times I wasn't there to know the atmosphere. My best guess is the total difference in complexity of the trip. AK/YT are very approachable trips, i.e. no special import restrictions, permits, insurance, language, money or security concerns. It's less than a 3-day drive from home. It's an amazing place that offers vast amount of exploring and given Alaska's abundance of public lands, it's easy to spend weeks off-road. Our pace for Central America didn't allow us days to hang out as such, we had more than double the mileage to drive in a similar time all while dealing with borders, ferry schedules, incoming/outgoing flights, immigration and special projects such as the Team 5 scenario. Apples and oranges.

We could have spent an extra month in Cen Am and still just barely covered the surface, but with a 12 episode deal I don't know how the production team would have condensed even more content into the same amount of shows. Perhaps CenAm should have been broken up into two seasons thus allowing far more content in the 22 minute shows... but I don't think numbers would respond to the second season of shows? As of now the numbers are doing killer, months ahead of Season 1 so the production team feels they have done a great job.

What I do know is happening, fans are becoming far more diverse and thus their opinions reflect both sides of the spectrum. I.e. here is another comment about this last episode:

"You guys are really taking it to another level with this season! I can find thousands of videos with trucks plowing along trails all over the world, but to capture the essence of a region's people, culture, and lifestyle as you travel is a unique talent. Looking forward to the rest of the season! I for one, enjoy getting to see more than just the trucks bouncing around all 30 minutes, and its awesome to really get a feel for the places you visit, the people, and that experiences that overland travel affords you."

I.e. he's applauding it for the opposite thing as many on the 4x4 specific forums. I suppose the division in fans is to be absolutely expected as the viewership base continues to grow. All part of the game I suppose.
