these are the manufactures of the kc light bar that retail for 400+
    [IMG]
if you notice the only difference is that this bar is missing the kc punchout. and 200 dollars cheaper. he cant say they make them but he said they produce them and other companies buy them and sell them(KC)
just got off the phone with them they make light bars for the 1st gen and 2nd gen tacomas and FJ's and Tundras too.

    just the bar
hey im going to charge you 400 dollars (cuz) you buy from a name you trust, then, i (the big name company) will go to a small business buy the bar for half that and smile as you take it. yeah i didnt get screwed.;)

im all for price margins and profit but that is crazy. 30% percent i understand but 50% crazy. next time i will look around more, hope this link helps someone else get a GOOD deal on a Great light bar.

no disrepect meant just saying the wool was pulled this time. haha:rolleyes:

If that's the case, that is pretty lame. My family has been in the automotive wholesale distribution business for quite some time, and this is not common practice. Of course there will be markup, but not on this kind of a scale.

Nothing unusual about 100% markup at retail. Consider the overhead costs of marketing, advertising, salaries, bricks and mortar, etc., and add in a little profit, 100% is typical in many businesses. In my business (shoes), factory to retail is 500% by the time it gets to the market. If you hadn't found the middle man, you would stll be happy, no? Live and learn.

50% is pretty standard for a large item, its 100%-500% for smaller items. You have to remember these are not volume items so marking it up 50% is reasonable.

There you go, we have all paid to much for something and regretted it later. I try to view it as if I thought it was a good deal at the time it's still a good deal now. I have paid a grand for a camera body only to see it for $500 or less a year later.

Hey I wouldn't feel too bad about it, I bought the same thing installed with 2 Liteforce lights and a mickey mouse switch for over $1000. Quite the markup for shipping up here...but I like it.
