Bumper, hood and grill would still be cheaper than a $500 deductible. If your radiator is bent but not damaged you could leave it be and see if your temps get too hot then look in to fixing it.

If the airbags didn't deploy and you add a crash bar in to the cost (I've seen free ones floating around) it's still cheaper than an insurance claim. I think I am done with this thread lol seems like I'm going in circles. Good luck op

    Reserected from the dead.
If all those things listed show damage, then you will have a bent core support and fenders too. Not a bad job for a body shop, but no way is it a job you can do yourself if you are not skilled in body work.

I have maybe 100 in my account... and I still need someone to do the work, so say I get a SWB bumper, Radiator, a replacement grille, SWB hood, for 500.... id still have to pay someone to do it...

All the good insurance companies and the good body shops use the same estimators. They almost always agree on an amount. But if this estimate is in the 1,000-15000 range and your deductible is $500 or more I would be tempted to not turn it in and do the repairs yourself of at least some of them. Bumper, grill and headlights are very easy to replace. If you need something painted you can just buy the part have a body shop paint it and install yourself much cheaper this way.

Replacing bolt on parts doesn't really require any bodywork skills.

Not much of a chance that the damage is less then $2500 and that you will be able to do the work yourself.

Whatever body shop you go to see if they can help you with the deductible aka eat a part of it. The higher the repair bill the more they can eat the deductible and less you can pay out of pocket.

At the end of the day, shit happens my man. Dont stress over it, most of us have been there. Just carry on and try to learn from this.

    My work is done here:

I have read through all this thread...going only 30MPH, hydroplaned and slid off the road, right...then it was stated by the OP that there were no skid marks, well, duh, if the road was that wet to hydroplane then there would be no skid marks even if locked up....methinks that possibly there is something up here, either going faster than 30MPH or maybe playing around a bit ...hell, I am getting pretty old and I still like to kick it every once and awhile in the wet stuff....I remember one time playing a bit too hard on an off ramp, ended facing the wrong direction...thankfully no one was behind me and I traveled on after a couple of back and forths....shiza happens....doesn't matter how it happened, just get her fixed and move on....is this the story you told your parents? did they buy you the truck? so many questions, but it may explain the panic from the OP....good luck with the repairs....

I don't see much reason to lie here. Even if he was going faster, who cares? Insurance pays regardless. We've all done something dumb.
