    Yeah.
I'm saying your chances of getting a better job and advancing are slightly higher with an education. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. You don't have to like it, and you can make your own choices, nothing wrong with that. Lots of people beat the odds.

That has nothing to do with education or lack there of. Oh, and by the way, I'd assume the above mentioned phenomenon has in no way "enhanced your work opportunities"....If so please refrain from commenting on such...;) :)

Well, I guess you're right. People without a high school diploma gets paid one dollar an hour. Compared to criminals with a high school diploma that get paid five dollars an hour.....

    A few things
I agree school is not for everyone. I did graduate high school but college was not for me. I am in a union construction trade now and make a damn good living even for living in California.

Lack thereof, irrelevant. I've been making over 6 figures the last 3 years and don't have a degree. It's a waste of money IMO and most kids who have one are in student loan debt for 30 years.

I'm kind of taken back by some of the responses here. Not quite sure if the OP is serious or just messing with everybody. The reality is a high school diploma is pretty much worth next to nothing. I mean what job have you ever applied to that has asked to see your diploma? None that I can think of. The last grade I completed was the 8th. I never had an issue finding a job or building my own business, taking out a credit card or obtaining a mortgage when I was 18. With the advent of the internet, namely Google - you can know as little or as much as you desire. That is why there are unsuccessful people with 4 year degrees, and successful people with little to no formal education. It's about will, drive, hard work, and never becoming content or complacent. I've worked hard to get where I am today, with no help from the system or any others. School for me was a complete and utter waste of time. High school should be optional for those who feel confident enough to take on the real world, and to swaddle those who are not quite ready to spread their wings and fly. I'm not hating on anyone for any of their life choices, but don't hate on those who are self made.
