I am the proud new owner of a 2015 6speed TRD Sport Double Cab. I am currently in the market for a suspension lift. There so many out there to choose from. A big concern of mine is voiding warranties by making modifications such as a suspension lift. Does anyone have some advice? This being my first new truck I want to make sure it is done right and no corners cut.

Also, I am new to the forum so bare with me as I learn more about my Taco and this website.

Budget? Type of use planned for your truck? Is there a certain tire size you want to use?

I had 5100s and a 3 leaf progressive AAL that gave me what I'll call a 2" lift. Reality is 1.75" front and 2" rear. It costs about $500 and I was very happy with it.

Well obviously I want to get the best equipment on my truck. Right now I am just getting a better idea of what I want and how much I will be spending on it. 6" suspension and 33" to 35" tires depending. This will be mostly my road princess with no intentions of doing any significant off roading. I do not want to sacrifice much ride quality i.e I dont want a rough riding suspension system.

Yes exactly. I believe I read somewhere once you go 6" you cannot go back so this is something I want to have planned out very well. Consulting with you guys I appreciate the input.

I am open to all suggestions. I'm sure you guys know more about them and if you feel that you can sell me on other suspension lifts or point me in the right direction go ahead.

Can you tell me some disadvantages of going for the 6" suspension lift? Why would you not do it?

Cause you do not gain any travel with bracket lift. If you buy the kits they put you on blocks. Plus it ride's like crap. Plus if you are 4x4 drive you cut a cross member.

MWOAP very good point. Thank you. Just based off what you said I am officially NOT doing any type of block kit. Yes I am 4x4 and not cutting any cross members.

No problem. If i had to do it over again I would never in million light years choose the 6 inch lift.

So what you recommending is that I not purchase a "kit" but rather gather parts needed from the various links you posted?

yep. But that is how i would do it. With helping install plenty lift kits and seeing different lift kits. I would buy piece by piece.

Wow there is alot of work I need to do as far as researching and pricing. I have looked at the Icon kits from Wheelies website. There are like 7 different stages of kits they offer. These kits seem to have everything included?

Yea i would really do my research on which one you want to buy. Yea most of the icon kits come with a full set up.

Besides this forum I am not sure where else to conduct my research. Obviously every vendor is going to want to sell you their product and tell you theirs is best. On here I can get candid feedback

Most are pretty honest with what they recommend or don't recommend so far as I have seen (Headstrong Off-road and Wheeler's Off-road). Customer support is huge, particularly at Headstrong. It isn't a sale and then a good luck situation at all from their end IME. After the sale support with Headstrong has been great.
