3 hours and you're homesick. I feel bad for you. That's what you wanted to hear right?

How about the thousands of KIDS that are overseas getting shot at and bombed. Kids your age and younger than you. Never knowning if they're even going to COME home, let alone be able to jump in a car and drive 3 hrs for a homecooked meal.

Well we all appreciate the armed forces and the fact they volunteered to serve our country...

Back on topic, the best way to cure being home sick is getting a girlfriend, works every time ;)

    Lots.
How about you stop being a dick

I'm seven hours bro and I feel the same way sometimes. Didn't come to school with any friends. My dad told me jump right into something when I get here. I kept doing what I love, shooting photography, filming, and flying. People were attracted to me doing all of these things and now I have more close friends than I ever had back home or in high school. You gotta get out there. I miss MD a lot some days and don't think about it at all on others. Stay busy. Stay active. Go to class. Play sports? Go to the gym and get in on one of those pick up basketball games. College is a great experience and make it your home.

Will do, i might go in sometime this week.
I worked hard to transfer to this university and i should feel proud that im here. I just feel like being happy and possibly moving back is more important right now. call me crazy but thats just how i feel.

Its good to know that there are many other college students on here, very supporting. I will continue to stay this quarter and judge how I feel in December.

I hope you've never made a comment about being hungry. There's starving kids in Africa you know. Everything in life is relative. This is why you have unhappy millionaires and hungry gluttons.

I felt the same way my first semester...already had set up a transfer to go home. Then my family convinced me to stay...and so glad they did. The very next semester it was tons of fun...all the way till the end.

Stick it out...you'll find your stride there soon enough. Like others have said, find a club or group to hang out with.

I've graduated, moved back to where I grew up and started working...now I'm schoolsick

You need to find some friends and girls to keep ya busy. :p:p
Do you live in a dorm? Dorm life (for me) was fun as hell.

    Give it time.....

When I was 18 and ready for college, I couldn't WAIT to get my ass out of the house!! I never went back except for weekend visits. Even during the summer, I worked fulltime, lived with room mates and stayed in town at school.

I dunno...but I was never attached to 'home' like some folks are.

My family is doing the same and trying to convince me to stay. We will see how things work out. I like how now your schoolsick, many people who graduate say they wish they were back in college.

wow 13 hours. my situation is not nearly as tough as yours, but everyone is different and dont handle situations the same. i really need to think everything out thoroughly and not make hasty decisions.

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
I wound up going to college halfway across the country, so going home was not an option. Sure- I was a tad homesick ( especially in the winter when it was freezing ass cold up there) but after awhile you get used to it. Its better for you in the long term, so stick it out. College educations in this economy are pretty important and you're not going to help you folks out by moving back home. Trust me- they want you to start making money asap.

I guess just think of that now that you are away you can be anyone you want to be. If you were the nerdy kid in HS (Not saying that you were just an example) you can be the stud at school and be different then you were because no one knows you at your new school. You just got to go out an meet people and meet others in the dorm as well. you will have a lot more fun. I wish I could go to school in a different state because right now I go to the community college right now and it is 5 min from my parent’s house. I see everyone that I went to school with an have known for years and it sucks because I want a new change of pace and not have to hear about the same old shit like I have for years. I kinda screw myself because I just bought a brand new house and it is about 10 mins from my parent’s house and from school. I see my parent like every other week for lunch but that’s about it. So at least you are out and about and have the chance of meeting new people and have new experiences with them. If you are a little shy a good book I would recommend is called "The Power of Charm" is super sort (maybe 100 pages) and the concept is easy. If you read it a few times and follow that it tells you, you will have more friends then you know what to do with. Just put yourself out there and have a blast man.
