I have thoroughly enjoyed the season, its the highlights of my Wed nights! That being said, I enjoyed the 4x stuff of last season a bit more and keep hoping we will get just one good episode with some 4x

Glad to see I'm not the only one who felt this way. Any mention of this on their YouTube channel will yield a backlash from the army of progressives who have probably never done any 4x before. Kurt says there is some on the way though, so I'm still tuning in.

I agree and have made similar comments here and on the Xterra website, for which I was beaten mercilessly. :bananadead:

I intend to keep watching but I'm not thrilled with the series so far. I also am not sure what to make of this Team 5 thing. Team 5 seems to be a credible and bad ass group, and clearly they could have gotten to these villages on their own, without transport from XO. In fact, obviously they had been coming to these villages for some time and had never been accompanied by XO before. I'm not sure what, exactly, XO did in this case except replacing the regularly scheduled drivers... and doing some light administrative stuff and maybe taking some vitals and so forth of patients as they came in. Not exactly world changing stuff though it seemed to be sold to the viewers as such.

Eh, I don't know. I don't want to be a judgmental dick about any of this. I just want... MOAR... WHEELING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will say that hotel in the jungle was pretty awesome.

The little girl having surgery in Episode 7 is my hero. Amazed how calm and cool she was.

I did learn something from Team 5 though... how to get out of tape restraints.

Well I spent most of this last weekend and last night watching the America series, the Alaska as well as the South America series too.

These overland builds are steering me away from a LT build fast

In addressing the last part. This isn't your typical 4x4 show. If anyone is a fan of hunting shows like I am it's comparable to Jim Shockeys Uncharcted or Steven Rinellas Meat Eater, it shows more than just an animal dropping dead or in this case wheeling. It shows you the trip, the experience and the culture. IMO its put together tastefully and shows everything a adventure can and hopefully will be.

Awesome, looking forward to it. I used to live in Panama years ago when my Dad was stationed at Howard AFB, also went back for Jungle school when I was active duty.

    Episode 8 is live!

Lots of border dynamics this episode. With a dozens of borders and checkpoints on our trip... it's an important subject to cover.

That "John" is one odd cookie....

You have to wonder if the kids who went missing were really swept out to sea or not....

There is no way I would want to go see some of those places after watching these episodes. I'm sure there are two sides to each story. We only see one, but that's ok. I'll pass on some of them. Always enjoy watching the shows though and seeing how other countries are.

Episode 8 was great, but I gotta laugh at Clay wanting to "punch that guy in the face". If he didn't have the camera crew and other guys with him would he say that? Heh. God bless him. Clay rules.

For sure, he was all over us just as soon as we arrived... had nothing but advice to give

Unfortunately yes. We quickly learned they were camped just 30 feet from us... it was clear as day when we saw the look of the missing boy's mother as she stared at the sea and cried for hours. John, couldn't have cared less in fact went on to rant about how poor swimmers underestimate the ocean and it "happens all the time".

While the borders are hectic and chaotic... that is all part of the adventure and to me that is exactly why we are out traveling. If the borders were smooth (think US to Canada), everyone would be doing it and thus it wouldn't be much of an adventure.

I absolutely think so. I took John with a grain a salt, he is a disgusting human and chose to leave the US so he could indulge in stuff no so available here in the States. Clay and Scott took far more offense to his antics and offerings... their wives are part of a team that fights sexual abuse and here this guy was trying to get us to take part.

This is very true. I'd love to go out on some of these adventures. I'd be more tempted to do some of the ones you are now if I had a large group with proper equipment and training. As of now, it's just the wife and I with a very basic setup. For now I won't be trying anything like that. I'd love to do the Yukon one eventually.
