That's good the quote will show either CAPA parts or oem! Age and mileage they were going for the CAPA parts.
I ended up with all oem except the hood!! Still not the same truck it was but I'm good with it now. Hood was not to be replaced in qoute. If it's a decent shop they will do good by you and still make money.

Regardless if the bar is there or not, damage will occur. All the parts that the bar hit would have been most likely messed up anyways. Don't worry about it. I have a similar bar as well. I know that it will mess things up if I have a similar accident, but I got it for extra insurance against deer collisions. Let's move past that bar issue.

Check you insurance policy. In many cases there is money to pay for a rental. Many insurance companies are including this for full coverage customers.

    Certified parts.
They are supposed to meet all makers specs. So they should be the same as oem. The shop had to actually put them on and send pics or have adjuster look at fit.
    To swap for oem.

    CAPA

Certified auto parts association. They are not OEM, but very close. You only need OEM for hood and fenders, all the rest can be anything else.

For sure if you have rental that will covered as well!
If you don't check to see if using a credit card you have has the extra ins coverage on rental cars. Renting isn't that bad pending age and adding the extra rental ins.
My shop rented my a car when it took longer than expected. I don't have the rental coverage. First time for me 30+ yrs driving!

;)Yes went through this with my daughter. I rented a car and she used one of ours.
Most insurance company's seem decent at least the ones I've dealt with as of late. The daughters car also got hit in the parking lot where she works. Shit it's a 13 Jetta been hit and had pretty close to every panel painted.
    Travelers ins.
    Amica ins.
Both were really good to deal with.

I like stock size. They have done fine. I drive about 100 miles a day in school. How hard would it be for me to get a credit card. This appears to be the opportunity I may need to build credit.

I have more in my account than my mom right now. Bank grandmother is loaning me money for the rental and deductible. It's just I don't want to make her pay for tires too....

I'm glad you're ok @thewarriordinghy , but I gotta say that I'm giggling about the fact that you're about to enter into the credit card world and we're witnessing it here on TW.

Building good credit is a good idea. Getting a card is easy. Being responsible with that card is not - especially as a member on this website. I agree with Door Ding - it's a safety issue so buy the tires. Get something good, but don't go buying new wheels too - or sliders, skids, OBA. steel bumpers... you get the idea.

The reason I don't have a credit card is because I was raised if you can't afford it, don't buy it, so I was like what's the point of a credit card. I also pay my debts off the moment I get money.

I understand what you are saying, but just don't see how it is pertains to the conversation. The OP needs his truck fixed. He will be taking it to a shop and they will be fixing it and the insurance company will be paying to fix it. The insurance company is not gonna say we can't fix it because you had that bar on the front.

Except with cash, like people who don't accrue debt do.

    Credit is smoke and mirrors.
