That is a nice truck and I was on the fence with the Tacoma / F-150 too when I purchased last year. Both are great and the smaller Tacoma just fit my current needs better.

My next truck will likely be a similar F-150 in a couple of years. I like my Tacoma but I'm less than impressed by the "new" Tacoma and Ford continues to lead the way when it comes to incorporating modern technologies into their trucks...especially their engine options. Ford's new performance division is putting out some VERY impressive vehicles too, I love the new Focus RS.

If you want to get a pretty significance performance bump out of your 2.7L EcoBoost checkout an ECU tune from Livernois Motorsports or Unleashed Tuning. I had a LMS tune on my 2013 SHO and it took the 3.5L EcoBoost from 365 HP / 350 TQ to 425 HP / 430 TQ...not bad for $600 and 5 minutes of work.

As for the reliability of Ford's EcoBoost engines, people are modding these pretty aggressively with no problems. For example, I know guys who have their 3.5L EcoBoost engines putting out over 600 HP and driving the hell out of them with zero problems.

    Enjoy the new truck!

Nice looking truck, but NO TRUCK has held it's resale value better in the last 10 years than Tacoma.

You're kicked off the island by the way.

Check out the next gen FORD RAPTOR in the wild. Reminds me of a
"fat mouse in a maze, looking for a block of cheese", when compared to the 2016 tacoma. Watch how it drags its belly over humps. LoL.

    Full sized problems.

Raptors a desert and mud track truck. I doubt anyone is silly enough to buy one and run any serious trails with it.

Yeah, it must really suck going where any Tacoma can go, meanwhile the driver not being tossed around like a rag doll in driver seat all the while enjoying a massage in his cooled seats! Stick with your prehistoric Tacoma's, "reliability, reliability" etc lol

There's an entire thread flaming the Raptor on here. It's a Tacoma site, but some people take there loyalty to Toyota way to seriously.

What a pile of junk. For something built for the desert and mud, it doesn't even had drum brakes. Those discs will be clogged in no time.

And it's got the same size motor the Tacoma has. What a piece of crap.

I wish Toyota would get serious with the TRD Pro line and build something like the Raptor, or min Raptor in the Tacoma's case, for us.

I'll have another when I have room for 2 vehicles. Get a nice efficient car to daily drive. Really was the best vehicle I've owned.
