    My dad taught me about hydroplaning when I was very young. He did this while driving down the interstate in Colorado during a HEAVY downpour. Never hit the brakes. Point the wheels where you want it to go, let off the gas, and let the vehicle fix itself.

    Braking or turning the steering wheel will both send you out of control. Why? Because you'll likely only have one or two tires that actually have traction at any given moment.

    I sell them all the time. They are usually listed as summer tires and I'll sell for $100. Cost to mount the set is $75 at Schwab. Some folks think that's a great deal. They save money every year that way, I'm sure. I sold my stock grand treks for $50 and they had lots of tread life - but hydroplaned like a boat.

    i live in Georgia, so i am lucky enough they shut it all down for that weather
    i tried to save it like in nascar by turning it the opposite way, but panicked when i went towards the ditch

    I have a tire problem... I do a seasonal rotation with 3 sets of wheels/ tires. Winter, spring hunting, summer, fall hunting - repeat. New ones in winter, good ones with studs removed for hunting, and they are summer tires when the tread gets thin. We can bet on almost no rain for July and August, but I still like to roll with some tread.

    Not likely, depending on the amount of damage. Any steel or Aluminum could be sold to a scrap yard, but the hassle might not be worth what you get out of it. I've been building a pile of scrap for awhile to make the trip pay off.
