Anyone know if Tacomas lease well? Never had a truck before. Thinking of going this route in lieu of a 2nd SUV.

Then don't buy a TRD Off-Road, it comes with the Chrome Rear Bumper...

The 'premium & technology' package adds color-matched bumper to the OR. Not everyone wants that package though...

I don't like the chrome bumper but I'm not paying extra to get a white bumper

I have looked over the pricing on the new Tacomas and I keep hearing that they are like 3k more than the current model. But looking at the DCLB TRD Sport 4x4, it doesn't seem like that much, but maybe I am overlooking something?

    2015 DCLB TRD Sport 4X4
    Base price: $31,740
Entune Premium with Nav: $1265 (2016 comes standard with Entune Premium with Nav, so to keep it fair I added that)
    Tow Package: $650
    Delivery: $900
    TOTAL: $34,555

    2016 DCLB TRD Sport 4X4
Base prices: $34,260 (includes Entune w/nav)
    Tow Package: $650
    Delivery: $900
    TOTAL: $35,810

The other option packages have a lot of things that you can't get with the current model, so it's harder to compare those. But I feel like I am missing something? A $1255 difference is less than I remembered. Am I missing something?

add $900 to price for destination charge.
Also, I am sure you can get at least $3000 discount on 2015s now.

Yeah, I added the $900 charge to it and that's how I came up with the $1255 difference.

I was just comparing the current offerings to the 2016 to see what the differences were. A DCLB TRD Sport is up there on my list for my next truck, but I'll probably wait until I have the wife's 4Runner paid off. 15's will be long gone by then lol.

No shit sherlock, I've owned 2 sports and an off road, not news to me. The point I was making is it looks a ton better color matched.

Does the base SR only come in AT SB? I Don't see a manual or LB option with the V6.

That is correct no LB or manual for the SR trim
SR comes in the following with V6
    ACLB AT 2wd
    DCSB AT 2wd
    DCSB AT 4wd

That's a little surprising considering it's supposed to be the "work truck" model. It seems like a good base platform for mods if you want to add wheels, tires, and a lift and don't need all of the tech. Do you know if they only come in certain colors, or are all the colors available?

Buying a car at invoice today is not a great deal. TrueCar (a true disruptor) when it first came out, listed ACTUAL DEALER COST of the vehicles which was always under invoice. and included holdback and any hidden dealer incentives and customer rebates. IT Was a great buying service because we all knew the actual cost of the vehicle and dealers had to really lowball each other to get the sale. Dealers were getting hammered and were all up in arms dropped the service and eventually caused TrueCar only reveal "what others paid" They pay TrueCar $299 per car sale.

The Auto industry has disguised dealer incentive dollars as dealer's cost dollars by moving them from MSRP into the invoice over the past 18 years. The spread between "invoice" and MSRP seems small today because it is. Here is what Toyota's invoice to MSRP spread has become since 1993

    Toyota Camry
    1993 - 16.0%
    1995 - 13.3%
    1998 - 12.5%
    2002 - 11.0%
    2008 - 10.8%
    2013 - 9.0%

    Toyota Corolla
    1993 - 14.0%
    1995 - 12.3%
    1998 - 11.4%
    2003 - 9.5%
    2013 - 7.3%

    Toyota 4Runner
    1993 - 15.5%
    1996 - 13.2%
    1998 - 12.5%
    2003 - 10.7%
    2008 - 9.7%
    2013 - 8.0%
    2011 - 7.6%
    2013 - 5.6%

Toyota went from 15% spread to today's 5% Quite the drop. Are they really making HALF of what they made in 93? I don't think so..Hence $1200+ in "pack and mop and glo" dealer installed accessories such as $100 for Nitrogen. $200 pinstriping. $300 Mats Whopping "Doc Fees" Toyota dealer here has $1200 in pack and $350 "doc Fee on all their vehicles and claim $2000 under MSRP which is actually $500 under MSRP

They are still making the same money as in 93 but the dollars are now hidden on the back end and selling ancillary products.

No dealer can stay in business with 5% margins and half the income they made 18 years ago. So when people say they paid invoice today Basically all they got was a 5% discount and the dealer is more than happy to sell at invoice because the hidden dealer's cost dollars are no longer public information.

They will sell at a loss only "if one more vehicle sold opened another bonus tier" at the end of the month or quarter or year, otherwise they are making good money selling at invoice all day long. Chances of being "that guy" who they have to sell a looser to is slim. But that's why people are told to sho the last day of the money or quarter or year

That is why they say buy at the end of the month. You may be that guy who's purchase causes a small windfall in dollars to the dealer. True Car is still a good service but their prices is only a start to negotiation.

...This is all very informative....so does anyone have experience or knowledge about the Toyota dealers in SoCal....like Hamer, Frontier, Bob Smith, Keyes, etc?

...Anyone know who has the best reputation for sales and after-sales servicing, etc?...Appreciate any thought on this......

Why do people still care about after sale service? Toyota is covering the warranty, not the dealership. You can go wherever you want to get it fixed

I get all my vehicles serviced by their respective dealer. Looks very good when it comes time to sell, Plus if they know you are gving them service, they will cut you a break on warranty issues and go to bat for you.
