So my criteria is "anything goes so long as it doesn't make it look like a hoarder truck"... So everything has to fit in compartments or in other storage stuff (like the swing case and a bed-rail mounted 40cal ammo case)

    Swingcase:
    20ft tow strap
    D-ring tow hitch
    Chain
    Ball tow hitch
    Rope
    Air compressor
    Safety vest
    Flares
    Snap-lites
    Garbage bags
    Hatchet
    Saw
    Fire starter
    Duct tape
    Mechanics wire
    Dry-packs (silica gel)

    Ammo case:
    Bungees
    Ratchet straps

    Bed:
    2.5 Gallons gas
    Shovel (W)

    Console:
    Markers
    Glass breaker
    Utility knife
    OBD

    Jump-seat tool bin:
    Wire strippers
    Knives (Assorted)
    Head-mounted flashlight
    Gloves
    Hex set
    Torx/Star set
    Socket set
    Crescent set
    2x phillips screwdriver
    2x standard screwdriver
    Channel-lock
    Big vice grips
    Small vice grips
    Crowbar
    Diagonal Cutters
    Scissors
    Adjustable wrenches
    Electrical tape
    Soldering iron
    Solder
    Tire repair kit

    Cabin / Back-of-seat:
    Sunscreen
    Bug spray
    Baofeng HAM radio
Baofeng no-battery back (direct to 12v power)
    Lifestraw
    Flashlight
    Lithium battery jump kit
    Umbrella
    Emergency blankets
    Heat packs
    First aid kit
    Hammock / Bug screen

The baofengs are dirt cheap on Amazon, and I figure even if you're not a licensed ham, if it's an emergency, having a fairly high-power handset is worth it - they have to come rescue you to fine you, after all.

The best tools to have on hand are the ones you'll need when you don't have them with you.
