Welcome! Now that in a sense is my ideal setup! Tow a trailer that I can put the 3wheelers on and have the RTT sit above them for 2 reasons, It'll mount high enough to get full use out of my annex and I can still take the truck out and have fun without having to pack up the RTT

 

Yup my thoughts exactly. Future plans will be to put the tent on a purpose built expedition trailer, with on-board hot water, a fridge, and sitting closer to the ride height of my TRD. Of course I'll build on an axle with the same 6 lug pattern as the truck. That's down the road aways. Right now the old lawn mower trailer will suffice.

 

I have one on my '12, the rack and tent are probably only 150 lbs. I didn't notice any sag with just the tent. But, loaded with camping gear, hitch bike rack with bikes, cooler full of beer, etc., it's probably getting up to about 500-600 lbs. I added RideRite airbags.

 

Agreed with Rich, all depend how much stuffs you have loaded. I think MPG would be more an issue.

 

Looks good! How do you like the Ayer? How is it with 2 people?

 

Love the Ayer. I can get it on the truck without help. Build quality is excellent. The size is cozy, yet comfortable.

 

Does anybody haul a kayak on top of your RTT?

 

Once I get a roof rack I'll be planning on it

 

@Mademan925 does/did. Kind of a far away picture, but I know he was rocking the kayaks on the roof rack, sort of stacked on the RTT. Hit him up...

 

Actually i take it back. His aren't really on top of the RTT at all, they just hang over a little...

 

That's awesome! But i have a 13' ocean kayak. Do you think it will hold the extra weight?

 

I ordered the CVT mt Rainier.. Well i should be good then bc it only weighs like 60-70 lbs

What rack/bars do you have that resting on?

 

I've got a bed rack made by Bashfab. It's basically relentless bars welded together on a L shaped plate. I can take pics if you want

Other than the guys I roll with I've only seen 1 other RTT, but it is Georgia haha
