I have a cover on my truck now since 2002. It is a great feature and I would highly recommend it. Yes you will be able to lock your tailgate and you can easily remove the cover. I keep mine closed and the only time my pickup bed sees water is when I decide to wash it out. I also think it makes the truck look better.

I would never want TRIFOLD I don't want to have to remove it in Home Depots parking lot too use the entire bed. They make it look easy with two people. I prefer a TruXSport Roll up cover that can be rolled all the way to the front of the truck....and for half the money, Yeah its soft but waterproof and no one is going to cut through it to see what may be in the bed,

I had an Undercover on my last truck That was an $700 mistake Could barely use the bed at all for anything large.

My brother has a bakflip on his F150 4x4. He likes this (the Toyota) option of being able to take it off, or get into the front of the bed. To get to his, he has to open, flip, flip, then break out the tailgate step and drag himself up into the bed (disabled vet).

I tell him it's his fault for getting an F150 and not a Tacoma.

I like my Fold-A-Cover G4 Elite  it does similar things like the Toyota one except it locks the front and rear but it requires four bolts to totally remove the tonneau cover though. It's only negative IMO. Last, it just doesn't have the cool Toyota sticker on the center though. I wouldn't mind getting this one when my G4 Elite is ready to be replaced..... been almost 3 yrs and not one issue though so I'll probably gotta wait a lot longer :D

My biggest gripe with it is that it isn't flush with the top of the bed walls. It sits on top of them, taking a good 1-2 inches of visibility out of the rear. The rear visibility restriction from bed height was one of the things that shied me away from the Canyon/Colorado--the front visibility was unimpressive, as well. I'll be going aftermarket for my tonneau, especially since it looks like the OEM only has two hinges, leaving an entire third of the bed permanently closed.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
I have the undercover flex and love it. It also allows full use of the bed like the bacflip but has struts that hold it in place so it does not hit the cab. Holds up at highway speeds.

Just what they've already posted. See just about every other thread for that argument.

I hate when people open more threads so I'll start the convo. here...

So Toyota says that the bed is 7% taller. Right?
I feel like they did that to compensate for the 1 (one) inch that they added to the bed depth.
    Am I wrong?

It looks like the Tonneau cover is going to take up that one percent so you can carry the same amount of trash at the height of the bed.

    That 1" is the 7%.

It's not a flush-mount tonneau, though. It sits on top of the bed rails.

That's fine, as long as it keeps the unwanted crap out and my crap in.

Capt - Nassir checked in with me today. He is working the inventory/allocation.

Also, do you have the interior color codes? I see the code numbers, but which interior code number is gray without the orange trim/stitching?

Exactly who wants a flush mounted tonneau cover? You'll lose cargo space by having it flush mount. It's bad enough the bed is shallow already at 18" for the 2nd gen and 19" on the 3rd gen.

I am becoming intrigued by the Tonneau Cover but we live in an apartment and have no where to put it. Any suggestions?

I do. The cargo space in the short bed is more than adequate for my needs. I'd rather have the extra inch of rear visibility and the cleaner look of the flush mount. One of my main gripes when I test drove the 2015 Canyon was how limited the rear visibility was.
